Honestly same. I think I’ll do an analysis on this one. Fnaf relies on jumpscares to get the player , which is effective, but only temporarily. Baldi is an enemy that you can see coming, slowly but surely, but you can’t stop him. There’s only running and trying to “get out while you still can”. Pair that with the strange abstract ness of the characters and the fact that it’s in a school and part of the gameplay is literally answering simple math problems, and you get a really strange mix that the player has to process and understand quickly. It’s pretty terrifying.

@@songbird6414 Not always, though. FNaF also messes with people with a fear of mannequins or animatronic characters, with bringing things to life that shouldn't be. Plus there's the backstory (which did get stupid but the original story was honestly better). FNaF 2 and 4 are good with getting the player tense, feeling unsure of which creature is lurking from what crevice and when it'll attack.

For the record, the last exit you go to is always the right one. You have to trigger all 3 exits to actually win. I think runners of this game have a very specific path they always take and collect the notebooks in a certain order to minimize being caught and get out alive. B soda is pretty much required to beat this game. It's safer than the zesty bar since sprinting can get you caught by the principal. B soda only gets you caught is you use it in sight of the principal. Also to note, this game has had numerous updates over the years that have changed it significantly. Obviously the addition of the "first prize" robot. They also completely changed Baldi's AI and he acts and chases the player differently. I think he has a cooldown now, so he gets fast after a wrong answer but then slows down over time. They also added the scissors to cut free from jump rope girl. Also, they changed the way the tape player and phone work. Basically, it used to act as a lure to pull Baldi towards the tape player, but now I think it stops him from being able to hear and detect your location for the duration it is active. Also, there is a priority sound list. Baldi can ignore certain sounds you make if he is chasing a sound you made previously that was higher up on the list. Basically, Baldi's AI is a bit more complicated than people give it credit for.
