The Charles route was my favourite of the infiltrate the airships endings, so I was devastated when I got to that ending of completing the mission.

In the betrayed ending in the infiltrating the airship people were sad then because it was an actual ending meaning it was a possible thing to carry on into further games, where ones where Henry dies are just considered fails and can just be reset, the fact that Charles dies in an ending makes it sad as it means that it is a possible outcome in the series where Charles dies and stays dead, after all, even though most of them are funny, the things he does in fails would end in his death, but we still laughed as it was funny

David Nissim The reason is, all of the other ones ended in failure, so therefore he never actually got to do it for real and have it succeed. (It was also played up for comedic purposes). Whereas, in the valiant hero ending, he ended up doing it, and having it succeed. That’s why everyone is actually sad when it happens.

@@doggod9521 it's a bit convoluted, but I can explain. First you have to just get to "Go towards the light..", doesn't matter how. Then, "Send a Distress Signal" > "Don't Attack" > "We Do/Don't Need Your Help" (doesn't matter) > "Don't Open The Door" > "Call for Backup"
