I doubt OP would've tolerated this behavior at any point, but considering how OP's wife attended the wedding, I can't help but wonder if she was at least partly responsible for the son being so awful or was he always like that? Either way, OP really needs to be there for his daughter in law, his current grandchildren and any future grandchildren because I'm convinced that this won't be the last time, scumbag son gets divorced. I really believe reddit saved her marriage! How long could her poor wife have to put up with someone like that??!! Some mothers genuinely are jealous and envious of their daughters to the point they want to ruin their daughters life relationships and career. That's exactly how my mother was. I once googled "I hate my daughter"because I wanted to know why and what the thought process of a mother like that is. I thought it would bring closure if I just knew why my mother hated me. And I was horrified. MILLIONS of results from all over the internet. From advice columns, to reddit, to Facebook groups, to parenting forums the most hateful things I have EVER seen. Time and again mother's saying my daughter doesn't deserve her career she's not even that smart, my artist daughter doesnt deserve to be paid for her work it's not even that good, my daughter doesn't deserve her husband she's not even that pretty. On and on and on. All of these women pretending to be loving mothers in real life while this hate is festering in their hearts and they gleeful sabotage their daughters life behind the scenes. It is horrifying how common it is. Straight up pure evil. Millions of mothers who are so jealous of their daughters it's eating them up inside. It's poisonous.

Story 1, NTA. Egg donor is definitely trying to have her dream wedding through op. All op did was put her in her place and shut her down. Update 1, good on making passwords I wouldn't put it past her to try something. If she expected them to apologize and let her plan she's severely delusional and entitled. Wow, she's definitely trying to live through op and admitted that she's never liked op's fiance. Why am I not surprised that egg donor acted like a child and threw a tantrum in a restaurant. Nor am I surprised that she STILL tried to force everything to be her way. No, she doesn't know what's best for op she's only caring about herself. Good call on uninviting her as she should be because she's not going to stop. Update 2, she's definitely becoming unhinged now that she's not getting her way at all and has been uninvited. Yep, definitely went off the deep end when she tried to force her way into op's wedding wearing a wedding dress and saying that it's HER wedding. Not surprised that now she's trying to harass op and insult her. Now she's trying to gaslight and manipulate op. Op NEEDS to go NC with her. Egg donor also NEEDS professional help as she clearly isn't stable.

She went behind my back and changed all of it. I didn't find out until they played the song that was my EX fiance's and mine. I told them to stop the song immediately & they refused. I went to my mom and told her to not pay them unless they abide by my list, she said "oh, I changed it." Like that's not a problem. The only things I got my way was my dress being custom made and the cake decorations and carrying a basket of flowers instead of a bouquet. She fought me on all 3 occasions of those even after the vendors started on them. So yeah, cutting mom out of your plans and life is the right call there.

1) Mom was being overbearing, manipulative, rude, and just generally out of line trying to make this all about herself. I can't blame OP for snapping and telling her off, but I do wish they had set boundaries from the start so it didn't come to that, but under the circumstances, NTA. Now OP and partner need to stick to their own wants and stop caving. After update: Wow, delusional, narcissistic, hurtful, and awful. This is a just no mother and FMIL. After next update: Congrats to OP & wife on your wedding, so sorry mom did her best to ruin it. Thank goodness for good security. She is totally nuts, unsupportive and obviously someone with whom to go NC and have no guilt. Too bad someone gave the mom the info against OPs wishes and directive, they need to be found out and also go on the NC list. 2) It's sad the son turned out so badly, was irresponsible, and a terrible husband. Seems the son is the one who is big on betrayal, since he clearly had been cheating and was an abusive overly controlling AH. Good for OP for sticking with the mother of the grandchildren. After update: Good for grandma for telling the son the grandkids are a priority to them.

With the first story even from the updates you can tell straight up that the mother regrets not having the wedding of her dreams and doing the courthouse wedding to begin with. Now that the original poster has stopped being a doormat the mother's just going off the hinge. Think about it she basically didn't support her daughter being gay which is completely obvious she's tolerant of her daughter's lifestyle but not accepting of it. Not to mention the fact she sees this wedding at the perfect opportunity to have the wedding of her dreams do her daughter and her daughter said no she just couldn't handle it and now she must be real here she may have had security but the job was composed by ruining the wedding. And even with all the evidence there is no judge is going to give the original poster and her wife a restraining order unless there was physical violence called upon by the mother or done by the mother. The best thing they can do is just move away and not give contact info to any family disgust with the moment because the moment they do that the mother will move to wherever they are and make their lives a living hell. But I guarantee at the moment the mother gets married and has that dream wedding she's going to want the original poster and her wife back into her life and move from it as if it never happened.

It’s disappointing that no matter how kids are rise they could still turn bad for their own reason

Story 1 I'd tell the mom that your fiance decided to cancel because of her the wedding then plan it on your own. Obviously tell her the truth at some point either after the plans are finalized or after the wedding its self.

The mom saying that the wife carrying a baby wouldn't count because then the baby wouldn't be related biologically, they could have the OP's eggs fertilized and put in her wife to carry, so the mother's complaint would be moot. I hope everyone is having a great day/afternoon/night! Peace ☮️, hugs 🤗 and love 😘!

Story 1, OP's mom is a full blown entitled Karen.

She's a level beyond Karen. Ulta Karen? Omega Karen? 🤪 I'm just picturing cops chasing a rabid nutter in a tattered wedding dress down the street having to taser her before she bites someone. 🤣

Story 1: Mom has a fuck ton of mental health issues she needed to tackle YESTERDAY. And someone snitched about the wedding. OP needs to find out who and cut them off, that's just bullshit

OP: mom, getting pregnant is dangerous for my health. Mother: So I have to possess your wedding because I've compromised by accepting you are refusing to give me a perfect son in law and grandchildren. WTF lady, WTF?! She's not your puppet, grandchild oven and fairy godmother!

S1) She doesn't get to make you her redo anything. Not for weddings, not for families not for your lifestyle. She doesn't get to dictate where you want to get married, what kind of dress you want to wear, the vows, the cake and anything else. She needs to toe her nose back into line or be cut off imho. I'd put her on a info diet of a need to know basis and inform her that any more remarks about anything about the wedding that she wasn't asked about will have her being disinvited. I'd be hesitant with allowing her around any (if at all) grandkids you plan to have. Mom is unhinged. She really tried to treat OP like a do over life. Keep her on no contact and anyone saying forgive her needs to join her in no contact. S2) You DIL needed support when her scum of an ex booted her after cheating on her. Your own wife disrespected you by trying to demand you go and support this asinine idea. He doesn't get to moan and groan about "supporting family" cause you were. You were supporting your DIL and grandchildren as the only family she has right now. I'm glad you're sticking to your guns OP. To the person who said he'd might get cut off from future grandkids OP already has some that need their mom getting help while she copes with being betrayed in the worse way imaginable. Also I don't doubt he has it in him to do this again. That is if he didn't target someone younger and easier to manipulate. The larger concern is for the current grandkids, their mom and making sure she feels supported. Keeping an eye on things will be hard seeing as he got cut off but hopefully there are no more children coming from that waste of space son of his.

Final story: not enough is done to call or the abusive behaviour of the son, he should be told it was abusive, unacceptable, and that it was the father who disappointed in the kind of weak misogynistic man he had become, having him cry to mummy that daddy is dead because didn’t let him abuse his ex wife and kids as much as he wanted is weak, the grandmother in that scenario has a lot to answer for

1st. Her mom hasn't found someone because she is emotionally damaged. Her losses have become a sickness. Men pick up on this. She needs to seek help. In regard to grandchildren, is there any way a fertilised egg could be taken from O.P. and implanted in her wife for ONE pregnancy? Story 2 I have a strong feeling O.P.'s wife gave in to their son a lot while he was growing up. He seems to feel entitled to have his way in ALL things. That doesn't seem like a brand new personality trait.

I think he got red pilled ( their forums are grossly misogynistic), but it did seem to find fertile soil in him.

I have two little sons. I will do my best for them to not turn out like that douche from the second story. That would be the biggest disappointment of my life.

The dude calls OP a bad father when he was a bad dad himself and a terrible husband and overall human being. And the mom in the first story, ick. She crossed the line many times over.
