I love this song! Thank you for reacting to it! Like you said, this song can be interpreted in many ways. Marko said that he originally wrote it as a love song for his wife but it became a song that reunited old friends. I think some parts of the song tells about Tarja and Marko's relationship and friendship.

So I had to adjust my ears a little bit to transition from Nightwish because my 1st song was these two doing Phantom of the Opera. They harmonised and clashed at the same time. It fascinated me, I never heard anything like it before. (I think you have the DVD, watch it when you can). So it’s nice to have that combo again. I’m so glad that Tarja and Marko have become friends again. Warms my heart.

I like this more than I thought I would. Good song.. .should be on the radio (it might be but I have not listened to music on the radio for over 5 years now) Anyway it was good to hear that Tarja stayed in her lane, sang it straight up and did not go opera.

That small smile showing up on your face when it got to the moment where Tarja and Marko are standing facing each other, forehead to forehead, singing "But you still believe in me / And I choose the mercy of your heart"..... YEAH! Exactly 🥹 This song has been living on my mind rent-free for the last 2 days straight, it's relatively simple but the lyrics together with the melody and the harmonies between their voices just hits the right spot for me, I'm so in love with it!! Other ones that get stuck in my head just at random times are Nemo and for some god damm reason, Bruno Mars' When I was your Man😅 I don't know why!😆

It was. I was devastated and thought NW is done because there's no "metal" anymore in NW after. This was early 2021 so 3 years ago. Nowdays i'm very optimistic about NW future. Multiple albums incoming. Also very excited to hear Marko's next album. All good🤘

Becouse my gut tells me upcoming Nightwish album may very well be their last one. I feel Tuomas has ran his course with NW. Also, Marko's departure left band with unfillable hole to fill, both creative and live performance wise. Nightwish just isnt the same without him. Alas, all the best for the band whatever the future may or may not bring.

Thanks for this comprehensive, thoughtful look! I agree, the song has solid foundations, and the blues-rocky bedrock comes through. It's a really cool combination with the almost synth pop like keyboards, and I found the mix really pleasing and natural, and fresh in a nice, proggy way.

I listen to this song just a couple of days ago! It's amazing...and I understand the feeling of being lost, left in a place where I didn't know where to go! I was an alcoholic for nearly 20 years....and "Left On Mars" described those nightmarish years! Closing in on 25 years being sober!

Legendary Prog Metal. I like it. Btw, loved your Rakkasans shirt. My uncle was in the 187th Paraglider Infantry before they were dubbed Rakkasans. He died in 1945 at the age of 20 while liberating Manila.

I believe that they were born to sing together. It's wonderful how their voices combine. I was lucky enough to see them at their show a few days ago and wow! It's a thousand times better than in the video. I feel that they have matured their voices a lot, Tarja does some very good belting here and Marko sings more relaxed.

Would you Eric be interested to listen to Marco singing and his brother playing instrumental?, the song is called stigmata. I believe it was on mtv many many years ago. It’s a show of Marcos amazing voice and the passion in his eyes is so infectious. Anyone who has Nightwish on their cv is entitled to have a go on their own, they are all too good.

I may listen to this sometime later, but it is totally strange to me. Marko was the person who originally suggested firing Tarja prematurely according to the official Nightwish biography.This was after she had announced her decision to leave the band after the next album. How did they get together again? As to Marko, he published an open letter about his problems, among others with the music industry. But now he is with Tarja in the same music industry? This does not make sense.

Nightwish biography is a very overrated book that manipulates the reader from the first chapter. There are a lot of red flags. Marko said in a recent interview that when he joined Nightwish, the band was already divided into two camps. Everyone was telling him something different and he couldn't figure out where the truth was. Marko apologized to her already in 2017.

Marko suggested they fire Tarja because he saw that the band just couldn't function anymore due to it's inner conflicts. It wasn't because he disliked Tarja personally. Marko had depression and adhd that was undiagnosed until lately so I do believe he was burnt out. If I remember correct he did have a year long break from music industry after Nightwish.

Although I’m happy that Marko and Tarja have United once more - it leaves many questions unanswered. Marko quit Nightwish due to burnout (so he says) In which case yo7 would expect that his former band mates would still be in contact with him, but no…. Floor is on record as saying he has cha bed and they (Nightwish) have not heard from him at all. - Yet here is is reuniting with Tarja? It seems that there must be more to the split than “burnout”

I don’t think Marko wants to tour that much and long anymore. When NW tours, they tour big, and usually over a year. Marko likes to choose himself, what he does and when.

What I admire the most about these artists, that they have been singing/performing for decades and still sound so increable. I was sad see Marko leave NW, but I feel like he needed to go a create his own things again. Also Marko is amazing, Floor is amazing. In different projects both can shine bright and not have to share that space with one 🇫🇮😊

Honestly I haven't enjoyed Tuomas's music all that much in a while the only song that made me feel something was Shoemaker.. and Endlessness which Marko was involved in writing in. Anything else they made after Anette's departure was kinda meh, like, not bad but just alright for my taste. Definitely no Midas touch, but that's just my opinion
