Good video Mark, my type of flying and although a bit gusty for wind it adds to the enjoyment. The backdrop of the cloud formations was also very picturesque.

Enjoyed the authentic Vintage RC Aircraft 👍👍👍, they have a certain unique presence in flight and on the ground. The Vintage RC Pilots flying them are pretty authentic looking 🙂as well. Thanks cheers Paul

Hi Terry, just love these events, so nice to see all these old timer models, pleased you enjoyed watching. There are some more videos to emerge from the event including one of the PB2.

Yes I remember when RC equipment used vacuum tube radios and rubber band powered servos.

What a nice old-school event. With all those lightweight models turning up to fly, it's too bad that the wind didn't stay at home. It might be worth considering moving the start time to later in the day; things usually calm down after 6pm, and a balmy evening's flying with just twittering larks and burbling diesels for company is a lot kinder on the nerves than fighting blustery conditions at noon. Watching the plane at the start doing 'circuits and bumps' reminded me of when I lived in Kenya [my late dad was with the Flying Doctor Service], and I was working towards getting my PPL [got my licence, yay, now lapsed due to lack of funds and hours, boo!]. The airfield was close to a game park, and on more than one occasion I had to abort a session because of curious zebras or giraffes gathering on the runway.🦓👀 Eventually moved back to the UK and resumed my childhood obsession with free-flight and RC models because full-size aviation's way too expensive for the likes of me. Besides, a pilot's more likely to find flytipped building rubble, abandoned shopping trolleys and burned-out stolen cars blocking the runway than exotic wildlife. Oh, to be in England now that (rusty bed-)Spring's here...🤭
