This healed my whole life! I have read all of your books and my life is literally brand new. I learned how to accept god's love and then discover who I am. Then I was able to fill up my cup, with the help of Christ Jesus, attain love and my soul is restored. Psalms 23 is my life now. God bless you both.

I couldn't see my workaholism until I was no longer working. And even then, it took a number of compulsive cycles of acting out and ultimately burning myself out to see the PATTERN you emphasized so nicely. The torture of my mind was ruthless. Thanks to God's grace, after a few months of spinning and crashing, I saw my insanity and admitted defeat. My ways were not getting me any thing but pain. I surrendered a few weeks ago and have accepted that God's love and grace needs to drive. "The slower I go, the faster I grow". Blessings to you. I love your channel.

I'm an Asperger's patient with a healthy side plate of Purely Obsessive OCD. This is Grade A material that is absolutely worth adding into a study. Too many doctors and psychologists out there have ZERO CLUE about the truth of OCD, especially what "Pure O" means, and it leads to people going on in pain and agony, if not offing themselves. You two are definitely on to something here, and I encourage that you push to get this material recognized.

Wow I wish I had seen this when I had my 4th child! I went into a crazy deep anxiety/depression that began in the hospital and it lasted for months after turning on the television in the hospital room wanting to see something Christmasy. I turned it on and saw the Casey Anthony story and freaked out. I was so fearful of harming my baby after that and had crazy intrusive thoughts after that about my baby and myself. I thought it was all hormonal. I grew up with a handicapped mother who had a speech impediment and she had a very dysfunctional childhood herself. She loved me the best she knew how to but I honestly felt very alone growing up. I felt this emotion was more from my father but looks like it might have been both. Think I need to order the book on God’s love. Thank you!

Hi Mark - SO much good information here!! Thank you for talking about spiritual warfare along with OCD tendencies. I went through deliverance ministry 1 1/2 years ago, and am still on my journey of overcoming OCD tendency struggles :) I can feel shame about it, as I have not overcome it yet. I can have thoughts spinning about the deliverance ministry, about what happened back then, about oppression, etc to where I can become confused. I am currently going through your book God loves me and I love myself. Thank you for your resources! Calming down to allow God to love on me.. don’t need to obsess because I am loved.. don’t need to give into any compulsion because I have worth and value!

I love how real you both are, & it's obvious you're genuinely such loving people. Thank you. I love how you spoke of how grace & love is what really helps us in those moments. It's a good idea not to make too big of a deal or be shaming if we have a bad thought because it's giving fear power instead of grace. One thing I was taught that has helped me is that all kinds of thoughts go through our mind like cars going through a parking lot, whether from media, others, our surroundings, or Satan's temptations, our choice, etc. They are not who we are, & bad thoughts wouldn't be considered sins unless we're choosing them & inviting them to stay & park--that's when we're accountable for them. Meaning that unsolicited thoughts & being tempted are not sin. It's what we choose to do with them that can become a sin. For example, that man who tried to get help with the thoughts he had about his children: if he liked those thoughts & chose to indulge in them instead of trying to reject them & get help, that's when it would be a sin. I also think we're accountable if we choose to fill our minds with gross things from the media that plant seeds of sinful thoughts. We can choose not to be entertained by violent, scary, creepy, or sexual things. There are an endless amount of lovely, good, uplifting, virtuous options to feed our minds instead. When I was a teen I was sick of scary & inappropriate thoughts popping into my head so I started choosing better media/entertainment & over time my mind detoxed. It was liberating & now is 2nd nature to be attracted to good entertainment & repulsed by inappropriate things. I don't know if that fits into the discussion of OCD, but aside from OCD it definitely fits into the discussion of the kinds of thoughts we have. Another example is a lot of my body image issues went away (though I still have some) when I stopped indulging in fashion magazines. Guard our minds & nourish them.

I'm only a few minutes in and I relate soooo much to the examples you gave. And the fixation on meaning...ah this is so good! If I did not see this video, I would not have opened myself up to accepting this about myself and I would have been oblivious or just in despair thinking I'm just always going to be this way. I would have continued in a pattern of thinking that this is just the kind of persom I am...but it's not. And healing is real and possible but unaccessible if the wound is not known. Thank you for your videos. God bless you both. Okay, going to focus on the rest of the video now 🙂

I have scrupulosity and I’m constantly at a battle of should I believe or should I not. I want to believe! I have existential ocd before this and I was constantly searching if there was a god or not by looking up atheist vs theist debates, I was so busy wondering what was out there, then suddenly my scrupulosity was triggered by a video of someone claiming to have visiting hell. I had a full panic attack which triggered my scrupulosity. I was in a ocd battle of “what if I go to hell?”, and “what if I’m not saved? I had a closer relationship with god when I was 12-13, but I fell off”, and the big what if question that had was “what if I truly don’t believe in god and I’m just faking it?” It’s so scary. I’m trying to get some help and when I get help, I will finally have a closer relationship with Jesus and God.

Do you think OCD can grab ahold of things of the past? In my past, I sinned sexually. Looking back, I am appalled and embarrassed by things I’ve done. But thoughts pop in “are you really appalled? You did those things.. maybe that is who you are!” And anxiety skyrockets. I read in an article you wrote about how we get to lead our hearts and decide the people we want to be! I don’t want to ever do these things again, but I get pulled into overthinking because of things I have done in my past that I’m not proud of. Thank you so much for what you do! The work being done through your ministry is wonderful.

Thanks so much to both of you for this information! I have been using the advice and tips you’ve provided to walk this struggle out. I’ve found that OCD tendencies have infiltrated many areas of my thinking and my life! Is it common, or have you found, that a lot of thoughts that come across your mind are negative? Currently, I feel like 90% of the thoughts in my mind I should be separating as not me and not come into agreement with! Also, renewing the mind takes time, correct?

I always been neglected and rejected. This attacks my faith. I read the verses on unpardonable sin and got scared and these thughts came. I try to fight them out of my head. When i hear those thoughts, i guess in the back of my head i hear God left me i have to get this out i have to say this right. :( God will not leave me no matter what. This is the battles i deal with Hear thoughts change make sure thats not in my heart Hear thoughts compulsion to positive blah dont work Reject stop i have the mind of Christ God has not neglect me or rejected me 😭😭😭😭😭 I deal with how words sound the ebemy makes it sound like cuss words so try to change the pronunciations to sound good. (The defintion matters) I deal with trying to change the word start letter to positive I try to find positive words Ugh just everything i cannot think straight. The fighting the words to be compulsions, thinking it was me.

I don’t even want to say that because I don’t want to entertain that. I’m at a point where I am struggling with overcoming this at all. Did I cross over a line? I am actually feeling confusion and a numbness - this has been ruminating for 6 months since I first felt God asked me to submit something I wasn’t willing to release to Him - they were shorts and driving Uber. I felt God wanted me to surrender them because I’m getting ready to do missionary work and needed to be willing to deny self and take up my cross to follow Him. Suddenly I was reminded of a passage in Hebrews 10 which says if we sin willfully after receiving knowledge of the truth, there remains no sacrifice for sin - that it’s trampling the Son of God underfoot, considering the blood of the Covenant an unholy thing, and insulting the Spirit of grace. I worried that I didn’t act or act quickly enough on that last part. I haven’t been able to hear God’s voice or hear it clearly since April. In addition, any voice that I feel could be God, because I’ve been taught that if God’s Spirit leaves someone, then how can He return?
