I wish you all the luck, but please be careful about your sleep. Unless you've got one specific mutation of ADRB1 gene, you NEED to sleep at least 7 hours a day. If you don't, it's very likely you will pay for this deficiency in the future with medical problems. I learned this the hard way. It's much better to take your time and develop your career for two or three years longer than to die 20 years earlier than you were supposed to.

He said his first job (after dropping out of school?) netting him $2 an hour. The US Federal minimum wage was $2.30 an hour. Now a days such a job would typically be treated as an unpaid internship. So his "side hustles" would now be his only revenue stream. That doesn't explain the buying power at the time so I like to index things based on gallons of gasoline. 1985 gas $1.12 per gallon. Mark working for $2 an hour 40 hours a week: $80. This is sub minimum wage but the story has holes you can drive a truck through so moving on. So mark could buy 71.42 gallons of gas per week. 2022. gas is $3.06 per gallon. Working for current federal minimum wage $7.25 (scheduled to go up of course) at 40 hours a week: $290 a week. Total gasoline a week works out to: 68.3 gallons. That represents a 4% drop. The side hustle is now needed to make up for that loss. This misses out on some things like housing and healthcare that have increased well above the inflation for gasoline. Also, the disappearance of services that were free or heavily subsidized.

TLDR: He sells fish as a kid, he becomes a carpenter 9-5 job building wooden trash cans, he gets backstabbed by his best friend that stole his nifty business idea, he opens up a retail shop, and he takes a wild adventure to california where he drives some old car and stays a shady motel. Moral of the story: take risks to invest your money as early as possible. Making mistakes and learning about investing very earlier on will set you up to make amart investments eventually to where your money just basically grows over time. You're welcome.

This was really wholesome, you certainly haven't lost the passion for you first business. You sure know how to communicate your enthusiasm, hope some day I'll be able to master that ability that helps so much at selling.

Hi Mark, how can I seek your good help for life coaching? First time watching your video. I'm from Hong Kong, 30 years old with a banking job. Trying to build million net worth and business but no experience. Grateful to seek coaching from you as a proven multimillionaire. Thanks

I'm currently saving £750-1k a month and I'm investing most of it into index funds for my future, so I can retire at 50. That's my goal in my head anyways. I want to find income solutions for outside of my day job, to increase how much I can invest, but I don't know what to do...

You are the only youtuber that i will watch an entire video from. Your videos are the best and offer the greatest insights. Im currently 20 and would love to start my own business. Im currently working an underpaid job for a boss that has a brand new bently. My only problem is starting a business. I need to get everything in order and figured out before i can take the big step. And i still need to figure out what to do. I have an idea but it heavily depends on the willingness of other business.

This the most wonderful thing i've watched in youtube. This motivates me but at the same time I've realised a lot that I missed in my life.

I learned more from the last seconds of the video than I learned from the entire video! The lion mentality of yours that is hidden under your calm voice... taking the same desk... Amazing! Powerful!! Thank you and your son for the effort of sharing it public!

Hey Mark, what a testimony! I am very inspired by your history. I have been stuck in my job for many years now, I have started a small business but still not confident enough to leave my regular job. The bad news is that I am already on my 40’s and sometimes it worries me. I will keep on persevering on my journey as I am positive that things will happen. By the way, do you do private consultancy on business? Please keep up with the great Posts.

Your situation sounds similar to mine. I started a business but not yet left my day job. I'm very busy but it's not quite there yet. Have you managed to quit the day job yet?

I’m not good doing it alone but getting into the market has been my best decision so far in my road to financial independence as it turned out lucrative for me.

Great stuff. I watch several youtube videos on how to trade in the stock market but haven't made any headstart because they are either talking some gibberish or sharing their story of how they made it and I do not want to make mistakes by taking risks in my own hands.
