For those wondering, the reason the new 60w is brighter than the old 60w is because the led technology is more efficient per watt. Essentially the chemistry and design of the newer diodes allows for more light from the same amount of power. In some cases, you will see 6%-10% increases just from one model year to the next. Doesn't sound like much but it makes a difference when you're running 250 diodes on a panel, or a big cob like these lights. Funny enough the horticulture industry is driving a lot of led advancements. The H at the end of Samsung led model names stands for "horticulture" and they're some of the top of the line diodes on the market. (And overpriced/over marketed)

I have a project coming up where I'll need that late 90's early 00's analog look and feel to the video. So my question is: are there any modern camcorders that produce this look? We’re looking to go cruising this year and I’m going through my various old cameras looking to see what to pack. Don’t want to take the world with me so have just bought a few pen light leds with magnets… as cruise ship cabins tend to have metal walls, the magnets should stick to that a treat :-) they won’t give off much light, but only want them for a post of infill. I have a choice of cameras, a Sony cx450, Panasonic hv-c160, a Sony hx60, lumix dmc lx7, Vuze xr 180 3D and a Ricoh theta 360. Thus far I am probably going to leave out the Panasonic hvc 160, but keep in the two Sony’s, the Theta 360 and the Vuze. Sound will be through my Tascam and I’ll also pack monopole and mini tripod. Not high tech, but mobility and ease of use is my focus, plus I have remotes for the Sony’s.

Interesting, Markus. I'm just curious, but after dealing with all these batteries, do you put them in a safe place? It would seem that you're just one manufacturing defect away from a potentially dangerous situation in your house. The more batteries you have, the greater the risk.
@MarkusPix10 ай бұрын
What do you fear happening?

@@MarkusPixFire, it happens sometimes. Of course, the risk is multiplied by the number of batteries owned and types of batteries. Theoretically, it shouldn't happen; and yet it does.

I've had a thousand batteries sitting around for 15 years and not one has ever spontaneously combusted. Maybe if they are under load, but just sitting around I would assume the probability is pretty low.
@imagenatura10 ай бұрын
@@MarkusPix You're right in that the probability is low. A quick search reveals 1.5% of batteries are linked to fires. You have 1000s. That would increase your risk due to quantities. Also, you buy many direct from China, another factor. Your choice. Love your videos!

Markus, you have a very interesting "toys" collection, I've watched most of your LED light videos, so I had to buy some of this toys too few remarks to you video: - x100 battery gives 100w, single NP-F battery 30w max, so they are not comparable - x100 battery gives only 30W via USB-C port - ZHIYUN already has Bowens Mount Adapter for G60 almost without reflector, which is not good for X100/60 due to ventilation around the mount - if battery at the bottom, still 3 sides for ventilation would be available (a bit smaller aria) There is a new interesting option for the battery grip, which comes with copycat of x100/60 - Colbor w60/w100 with PG77/99 grip, and Yidoblo grip for ZC-100BI , ZGCINE H90, cost less than X100 battery there are few more interesting LED lights on the market, you might be interested in - Andoer Tri-Color (digitek, SHUNYI ) compact 60W for around $50 and SIDANDE Stander Sun Lamp RGB Led

Dear Markus. Batteries - more exact - accumulators are NOT measured in watts. Lamps are. if you have a 100W lamp and you attach it to a 100Wh battery it will burn at full power for 1 hour. If you take the same lamp and attach it to a 50Wh battery it will run for half an hour. On a 200Wh battery the 100W lamp will burn for 2 hours. The unit is Wh not W. If the full 100Wh inside the battery ever get out to the lamp which wants to consume 100W as long as it can is a different story. W i.e. Watt is a unit for measuring power. More watts means the lamp is brighter. Wh i.e. Watt-Hour is a unit for work (or in this case possible work - in other words - battery capacity). More Watt-Hours mean the lamp will burn longer. There is no such thing as a 100W battery. What you can buy is a 100Wh battery. Then we have losses in the cable and eventually losses in a voltage converter somewhere along the line.
@MarkusPix10 ай бұрын
Yes that is totally correct Professor 😆 My channel basically translates "nerd" to something normal people can understand. Most of them didn't even understand my white balance or proper exposure videos. So if the light they are trying to power is a 60 watt light with an NP battery like I show in the video, you'll notice the readout on the light says 30w... because with an NP battery, it is just a 30w light, and that's all people want to know. Hell if I REALLY wanted to throw them a loop, I can say technically a 30w light is not half as bright as a 60 w light... but I know better to not go there. I use terms people understand... like "little round thingie" and "the pointy part"
@simonpayne799410 ай бұрын
@@MarkusPix I have nothing against translation of technical language into laymen's language. But if you translate, you should translate correctly. Not distinguishing between watts and watt-hours is just as banana as not distinguishing between miles and m.p.h. Afterall, Wh is what you get on your electricity bill. There is not much rocket science about that! My term "work" is also a quite well known entity.
