Good review, not specific to this light, but I have recently purchased 4, 60W 5500K balanced lights for use in the studio with Bowens mount. These were not RGB (so I still use Gels to change the colour) but they are useful and somewhat easier for a lot of shoots than using flash heads (which I still use) Both the LED and flashes have their place still, but for speed, the LEDs do make for a faster setup, thanks to the WYSIWYG on mirrorless cameras

I'm considering getting this light, I have the X100 which has been great so far. Originally planning on getting another x100 but now I'm debating between the two. Besides the RGB, what's the value of the x60 over the x100? They're both the same price, pretty much the same weight, and size wise if you are including the battery grip it's the same foot print.

I haven't tested the X100, so I can't comment on everything. Some will like the form factor of the X60 better, but I would say the RGB might the most significant reason

Can you please tell me how hot the X100 runs? I am thinking about buying the X100 or the X60. I am not sure if the X60 is bright enough for indoor use.
@Drekko_Okami9 ай бұрын
@@kongyiu I have both, I decided to buy the X60 RGB to try it out. But to answer your question, they both run at the same temprature. The X60 is noticably louder, not by decible but by the sound it makes, as having a smaller fan makes the noise a higher pitch one. The X60 is really bright for a 60w light when just doing white light, its actually brighter than my 80w GVM light. But's I'm attributting some of that to the reflector. I'm going to do a opinion video about the x100 and x60. I just got to actually sit down and do it.

Dustin, your review ignores the problems with Zhiyun's batteries. Their batteries have horrendous reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, for basically failing after a few charges or in the middle of shoots and never working again. Frankly it seems a tad disingenuous to not address this elephant in an otherwise exception and rather balanced review. FYI: Over 50% of the reviews on "Zhiyun X100 Grip Battery V2.0" are 1 star ratings by furious owners who are stuck with dead battery after just a couple uses.

I've been using it for months at this point without any issue at all (I used it again extensively yesterday), so is it disingenuous to not criticize something that I've had zero problems with?
@jmfrokka23549 ай бұрын
@@DustinAbbottTWI Well that's worth a comment. Encouraging to hear yours works! I just find it odd all the comments on this battery which don't make it onto youtube channels. Right?
@DustinAbbottTWI9 ай бұрын
@@jmfrokka2354 Fair enough, but it can be hard to draw conclusions from anecdotal feedback, as people have varying agendas along with the reality of user error in some cases.

@@DustinAbbottTWI It seems odd that even in the bad reviews of the batteries, people rave about the lights. So it hardly seems like an 'agenda.'
