Those people are utterly beautiful. Village people are by far the most welcoming and friendly people you will ever meet. Traditions like this need to be preserved.

I am literally crying tear of joy at how beautifully they welcomed you. It would be my honor to travel to such special places. Villagers really know how to warm someone’s heart and welcome them as one of their own. The culture is also so rich in hospitality and love.

My home is in Oregon where we Oregonians boast lush valleys, majestic mountains and awesome Pacific oceans. But there is something so magical about Thailand! She also boasts the beautiful mountains, oceans and rivers. The food looks wholesome and delicious. The people are beautiful and generous! Thank you for bringing Thailand to life! Ay sorry for commenting on such an old comment but I'm also an Oregonian born and raised!! And one of my grandmothers is from Thailand, not far from the village featured in this video, so naturally I've felt a fascination with Thailand just as well my whole life. Plus, my grandfather is Laotian and Telugu Indian, our cultures are so beautiful and ancient 💖

@@raulmuniz1770 Erm, it's a 'food' channel, which many thousands of us enjoy. (Apart from you apparently.) Mark is very good and gracious at including us all in his experiences of food, it's acquirement, preparation and the different cultures involved in that. It's not just about eating! Even if it were I wouldn't have a problem with it and if I did I'd just go to watch another channel. Why don't you consider doing the same? Also: Cows chew cud all day. Do they have a problem? Whales constantly swim the oceans consuming plankton. Do they have a problem too? Not to mention squirrels, those little critters harvest and store away nuts for future, winter feasts.

Thank you Mark for your videos and the beautiful world we live in with such graceful beautiful people in it. My wish that the entire world could live in harmony, peace and joy. I live in a state that even through the disaster of COVID we had over 300 murders in our state in 2020. It is very sad we can’t learn from people like this how to live together.

I love watching your video Mark, I miss the countryside, eating fresh food, I grew up in Manila til I was 24 then migrated to Sydney Australia in 1983. When I was 16 years old I visit my best friend’s hometown province on Easter break for 4 days every year for 8 consecutive years , I had such a wonderful time. We go picnicking in the rice field, cooked fresh chicken, fresh veges, eat on the banana leaves, ride in a carabao cart, pick green mangoes on a tree and taste like apple and so crunchy. I really missed it so much that’s why I watch your video and reminisce the great time I had in the countryside, but just 4-7 days, not long though. Such an amazing experience. Thank you Mark for sharing this magnificent video. Cheers Gina👍👏😘🇦🇺

I love that style of cooking with all of the dips, soups and herbs but I prefer to keep it plant based. No pigs blood cartilage for me. I think the fish was catfish rather than tilapia.

The Thai people sure love their veges and herbs . They are very industrious judging by the variety in their gardens . Edit /Addendum I visited my ailing maternal grandma at 4 or 5 yrs old . Her house was in the middle of a vast rice field in Tacurong ,Cotabato , Philippines. Early morning , helping catch buckets of frogs for meals of the day was fun, eating them was just as fun.

The white thread is symbolic of “peace, harmony, good fortune, good health and human warmth and community.” The thread is worn by an individual normally for a minimum of three days and is untied thereafter (thread is not to be cut). Recommended practice is to allow the thread to fall off on its own.
