Located on the fence just outside the major central Lumphini Park in Bangkok, Thailand, are a number of Thai street food stalls. You can get all sorts of delicious and on the go Thai food. But there’s one stall where you pay 40 THB ($1.29), and you can eat as much as you want, a full buffet. I’d say it’s one of the most affordable buffets I’ve ever had anywhere in the world.
You’ll find a mix of different Thai dishes, a variety of different curries with coconut milk, and a number of different stir fry dishes. Overall, you have about a dozen different Thai dishes to choose from. I was surprised by the amount of meat in dishes - they don’t skimp at all on the meats and proteins. You first grab a plate of rice and start digging in to whatever you want.
Two of my favorite dishes at this Thai street food buffet were the boiled beef with lemongrass, and the boiled salmon soup!
In addition to an affordable all you can eat buffet, the people you meet eating here are cool and laid back, and the owner and chef is so friendly. He kept inviting me back to the buffet line to eat more food - “come back and have another plate!”

Please feel funny to be here, from Airport you can go to downtown by BTS electrical train, please avoid cab/taxi. Stay in "Khao San Road" or "Sukumvit road" is good for you & travelling. We went to Thailand in February. We ate here!!! It was so good!!! And yes, it was $1.29! Only thing we didn't try, was the soup, as it was not done yet. They were so friendly! Every Thai person we met was wonderful. It was the best vacation ever. I ate all the time and lost 14#. Lol. I would LOVE to do it again.

I was in Thailand for a holiday and didn’t get a lot of spicy food because they thought I couldn’t take it (most Weatern tourists can’t). Sometimes we didn’t have the time to lunch at a restaurant, so we stopped at a food-stall like this at a gas station. That was the best food, because it was cooked for the Thai people and not for tourists. Fantastic!

Thank you Mark. I actually felt like I ate there, thanks to your descriptions. Also, I was inspired to make a white rice over spring greens with Thai chili and a touch of soy sauce, two jumbo eggs with the yoke making everything so creamy and thinly sliced white onions. Why? Rice is cheap. I also make my salsas and hot sauces, bake my own breads (flat breads, loaves, tortillas etc).

He eat like Thai and capable to consume a lot of chili (even I can't match his level) The reason this buffet is so cheap because the stall is located near Khlong Toey market which is the place where everyone can get the ingredient with cheap price, but eventually I think 40 THB is still way too much cheap for the buffet. Cheers for the shop owner and it staff for saving humanity 🤣 If you go to this buffet stall and feel guilty or something else, consider giving a tip to the shop might be a great way to help!

@@luisgugustavo Nossa! 15 reais com carne à vontade?! Bom demais! Aqui pra comer carne à vontade só em churrascaria rodízio, que tem um bocado por aqui, mas aí o preço é 40 reais pra cima. Inclui o rodízio completo com acompanhamentos, churrasco, pizza e até sushi, tudo à vontade. Mas em compensação as bebidas são muito caras.

Thai food is so colorful, fresh veges and the meats and the Thai green chilly peppers in fish sauce yummy. The soup, tom yum with lemon grass, I could go on and on. Throughly enjoyed the video and am salivating too. Pumpkin curry looks so appetizing. Over the top cuisine. Have to visit Phuket just for my gastronomical appetite. I like Thai food because it is spicy, sweet, sour, hot and salty. Good balance of every taste. Mark cleaned out his plate. $1.29 unbelievable. For all the viewers, “tip well” if you ever eat there.

UnDebNiable No I don’t But I’m thinking of going there to study some asian instruments and to get to know my own culture since I was born there But raised in Europe. The thing is, I’m quite Paranoid and since I can’t really read or write thai I’m not sure if I’ll survive there 😅 I can speak it But I have a thick Finnish accent. I’m just really Paranoid about getting scammed etc. Even though it’s my own country 🤣

@@ScrumptiousRump That's really awesome! I hope you go through with it because I believe you will be fine. You definitely have an advantage over me because I couldn't speak or understand Thai at first, but hanging around the locals I picked up A LOT. Just go in with an open mind and it should be a nice experience for you 😉. As for reading Thai, Google camera/translate really helped me out (maybe can help you too). Once you get the hang of things there it will feel like home, well at least it did for me. All the best to you on whatever you decide.
