Thank you for featuring Malay cuisine; a rarity really as most authentic Malay food are usually cooked at home. Singapore Malay food has nuances not only from Indonesian (especially padang and javanese) but also Malaysian, Filipino, Indian, Thai and Chinese cuisines due to the migration of people around the region. It is not unique but rather an almagamation or a marrying of ingredients and cultures. I love this place and so does my old parents, so thank you for featuring it!

@@Ilham_AT Sayang kedai Nasi Campur Melayu jarang restoran macam tu.

I am so happy that you finally did Malay food... it is so underrated in Singapore... every time someone does a food segment in Singapore the Malay cuisine is not featured or only 1 or 2 dishes like nasi lemak or nasi ayam penyet... We have so much more in our cuisine because we have different ethnic groups within the Malay race itself.... and this is just the tip of the iceberg.... 👍

It's very difficult to find Malay restaurant abroad, especially when there are very few Malays who are overseas compared to Filipinos and Indonesians. I think you should try Indonesian cuisine, because in Singapore and Malaysia Indonesian cuisine is very popular through its Padang cuisine, even Padang cuisine greatly influences the taste of Malay people. On KZbin I often find vloggers who visit Indonesian restaurants in Tokyo, especially those that sell Padang dishes such as rendang and gulai, maybe you can visit them.

Yeah don't think the "strong" flavours is an issue. These days people's palate are much more adventurous. It's more to do with the ingredients required are not easy to find elsewhere to make the different dishes to it's true authentic flavour OR it becomes too expensive.

Lol. I order from a Chinese spot once a week and always get around $90.00 worth of food because I can't decide what I want. The owner is appreciative of me so he always drives the order to me personally. Last week he said he hopes my family enjoys the food and I told him I live alone, it's all for me.
