I used to love doing club work before I went to uni. I made some at home using sand and soft hollow plastic bats. Ordered some new ones to get back into it. They built a really functional and aesthetic upper body I found...

I made my own club. Basic adjustable dumbells, three 2.5kg plates on one side and a rubberbandthing to secure them (the original nut tend to unscrew so). Folded paper and duct tape as handle and swell. Grips good, works great and is super adjustable. It works double handed aswell with 4 plates
@tex52213 жыл бұрын
A set of two 17lbs clubs for 40$... hard to beat that. Using a stack of 1.25kg works better because the diameter of the bell is alot smaller. Now I use a piece of theraband over the handle for grip but sweat still makes them a bit slippery. Maybe paracord is the way to go for better grip.

Clubs are so wild. A leveraged weight. I still can't help myself, but to laugh at how heavy clubbells feel relative to any other weighted utility. In life 25lbs, not so heavy. When I see Mark start swinging 25, 35, and 40lb clubs around with ease... this gent is really strong
@etilrets4 жыл бұрын
This is more of Indian Jori swings, practiced by traditional wrestlers in India. But the length of CB increases as you increase on weight and makes it almost arms and ab excercise eventually. My question is - how many one minute cycles should you have to include in your program?

I’ve found my left (non-dominant) shoulder is clicking doing shield casts, it’s not hurting though. Is this something to worry about? I’m going to try dropping the weight to see if there’s something wrong with my technique. Would appreciate your advice. Thank you!
@nadiadozova65154 жыл бұрын
Same with me. It used to click while I was swimming. I don't think is anything to worry about, but it is not too pleasent. I have noticed that if i succeed in contracting the lat and pulling the shoulder in the socket it seems to click less often.
@christinagipperich27804 жыл бұрын
Nadia Dozova I noticed the same thing with my left shoulder. It gets better around my third set and I really have to focus on my technique. I saw an orthopedic doctor about that shoulder for several other reasons so I know, for me, I’m not injured. I’m just old and out of shape.

I started with 5lb clubs for swings and shield casts and I’m progressing out of them. I tried looking for 7.5lbs clubs but the usual retailers don’t sell them (Onnit, Apollo, and good old Amazon). Does anyone have other suggestions for sellers or should I just get a second 10lb and work slowly?

Is it a good idea to integrate with heavy club or I will wreck the elbow lig and joint? I saw you video and outside/inside but no reverse shield cast.
