The way he chuckles when telling us to do regular shield cast before attempting the anchored version... Someone has had a WTH moment and dropped one or both implements.

Another ingenious movement by Coach mark, that creates tremendous core engagement while also forcing more deliberate movement patterns. Perhaps an advanced version would be a two hand club mill with kettlebell anchor - oh wait, that would require three hands……

I've been playing with this one and it's super interesting studying the difference in the movement patterns without an anchor compared to with an anchor. Thank you my man!

Thanks for another good video. I've been doing routines based on your heavy club training vids maybe twice a week for close to a year (mixing it in with kettlebell/slamball/battle rope days) and really like it... bottom line is that swinging them around, like weapon training, is just fun. Due to budget constraints I've been using 2 sledge hammers (a 10lb and a 12 lb) rather than the clubs, and find that they work pretty well as substitutes. I injured my elbow somewhat early on, doing one handed circles with a little too much vigor, and because I've continued to train, it's never healed completely. Having additional exercises, like this one, that do not include swing the club (i.e., hammer) down low, but keeping it elevated, is much easier on the elbows... thank you!

i guess you can change hands by setting the club down and doing an outside clean flying hand change with the KB. it releases only part of the tension. tried it and works with a 8 kg club and a 20kg KB. thanks as always, a great improvement these last exercises

This is such a cool idea. Club training is something I just got into in about summer 2021 thanks to your videos sparking my interest. I chose to follow the overweight/deconditioned single arm path when my first club arrived even though I work out regularly since I agree my posture could always be better. Curious, what protocol makes the most sense to transition from the volume cycle approach where you constantly trade hands to perform your reps to the time under tension approach you'd need to perform for the anchored movements? Would this technique be something you save for making the dreaded 10 lb jump in fixed club weight, or do you even view this as an option for the choose your own journey after completing a volume or density cycle when making a 5 lb pound jump in club weight?

I think this video got buried by the slamball announcement. Maybe a community post might help other people to see this.

It looks like your hand is going back over the same ear. It would be helpful to see the move in slow motion.

How heavy do you go on the kettlebell vs the club weight? I'm going to be using a pretty standard length club, not a long one.
