Page, in his years after Zeppelin, often looked like some crazed sorcerer as he gets into some wild soloing. He often makes me think of a tight rope walker doing flips and pirouettes 50 stories above ground. As he comes down onto the rope after some wild twisting back flip his foot slips and you swear he's a goner and is about to fall to his death but he always saves the move, and himself, and comes away looking even more graceful than before. That's why he's my favorite guitarist. He should have been splattered on the sidewalk a long time ago but you happen to look up and there he is again, looking graceful as ever.

They laid it out there, and thats what a musician does - lay it out there and let the cards fall where they may. Wow, just stunning. They really had captured their thing again during this time. The whole production is bloated to the point it could have easily been self-parody, but the principals delivered the genuine article and it makes all the difference. That whole venue must have been crackling with electricity and chemistry that night. There truly is something powerful about artists as talented as Page and Plant finding even greater depth of expression in performing the songs they wrote in their youth as men in their prime - the wisdom and experience inform the performance and they've lost none of the physical technique and musical prowess of their 70s heyday. In fact, like all true musicians, they are only better 20 years on from the original. I love this and take inspiration from it as a player of some 30-odd years myself. Thanks for posting!
@maryjvanderwerken3192 Жыл бұрын
BLOATED is an understatement!!! Page, Plant, Charlie Jones, and the late, great Michael Lee, DID NOT need this distracting orchestra. Who thought it was a good idea to mess with perfection??? 🤔
@Doc_Valparaiso Жыл бұрын
@@maryjvanderwerken3192 Not that they needed it. But, I think the decision probably came down to "Let's have an orchestra. Why not?" I don't see the addition as bloat. To me, it's just Page and Plant deciding to add another element. And, sure, other bands at the time were adding orchestras too. Page, Plant, and the whole band were on another level this night. Nothing about the orchestra could take anything away from that. I was too invested in the song to even tell when the string section kicked in. Just background in my opinion.

Not so bad I couldn't hear them play, but in-between. Page and Plant loved it! To bad they won't do it one more time. Have Jason Bonham on the drums. Plant just cannot do it without John. I understand. I lost my best friend. Though I think I could play now, especially with his son. They did in 2008, I believe. Just one mo'time... One..mo'time... I said baby... I loved watching that scene in,"The Song Remains The Same," this song, "Since I've Been Loving You," the people getting into it. And the girl with blue eye shadow I think, getting into it.
