Great video. I'm a long time subscriber. I have made a bunch of lures for myself and caught some good fish with them. Your videos are awsome and are the reason I bought my first airbrush. Your painting, mixing, carving etc.... techniques saved me tons of aggravation. One of these days if one of my designs catches serious fish I'm going to try and make a mold. I completely understand the time it takes to build these and then you video and edit on top of it. Thanks for your hard work!

Those are awesome, and you made the painting look easy enough for me to do this time. I still am lacking in the paint department. I am glad to see that you mold some of yours and not just make all of them out of wood. I have just recently started to use the wooden ones. I was always scared I wasn't going to be able to carve one twice so I just molded them so I could make them forever. ha ha I noticed that you were using an alumilite product for the casting. That is the same product that I started with. I later found, Feather Lite by a company called Smooth-On, and was much happier with the casts. You have to order it to a local distributor and pick it up from there. But I ordered the two large buckets of part a and part b and am still using it almost a year later and haven't run out. You do have to mix it before use but I feel it is worth it for what you get. But then again if something works why fix it and your's are obviously working.

Hello! My name is Pavlo. I'm from Ukraine. I really love fishing! I work in the manufacture of furniture. Often with a tree. I have been working with wood painting for a long time. In my free time I do something for myself. I want to make a bait myself Please answer my questions: 1. What kind of wood do you use? 2. What metal do you use for cargo? 3. What primer do you use to start? 4. What varnish do you use for the finish? Is its composition acrylic? Thanks for the help! Great video! Good luck to you!

Hey excellent craftsmanship. I've made some wooden baits so far, but am thinking about getting into making molds. Do you use different paints for soft plastics or is the createx fine? different final epoxy or just same envirotex lite? thanks!

Fantastic video again man, I wanted to ask do you have a website or any step by step guides for someone who is starting out. Iv bought some basic tools, balsa wood ext, hoping to make some small lures for trout. Im happy cutting, shaping the bait, making the through wire and lip ext. But when it comes to sealing the wood before painting, is that just a polyurethane varnish? Which then gives a base for painting? Once painting do you varnish it again or use expoxy for the final layer? Thanks man, keep up the good work.

@SuperKabookie6 жыл бұрын
I am so happy with the Lure I purchased from you! It is gorgeous! I have a couple of questions for you. When you crave a lure to cast, how do you determine the best shape so that it swims well? Secondly, when you drop weights directly into your mold how do you control where they are placed in the final lure? It looks like you poor from the top of the mold so maybe they all drop to the belly of the lure?
@marlingbaits6 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Thanks for buying my baits. I’ve carved and tested 1000s of baits, so that really helps, but you never really know until the testing. The bird shot that I use as weight will drop to the bottom, and I have the mold at the right angle, so the weight is in the right spot.
@dodgeviper13726 жыл бұрын
nice very impressive but I think in the colder months they would work better slowly retrieved along the bottom with short twitches to look like wounded fish
