MARMALADE - THE BEST ORIGINALS 1966-1972 I See the Rain, Reflections of my Life, Rainbow, Radancer

This collection is all Marmalade originals; utilizing singles, album tracks and a few unreleased songs. Marmalade is a greatly misunderstood band, often thought of as a singles band, or a cover band. The truth is their originals were always their better songs, like the b-sides of their first 2 singles that open this collection, but after their first original a-side tanked (I See the Rain) they were relegated to doing covers. However, after Reflections of my Life the band found new life for what they were best at, and even when Junior Campbell left they carried on briefly in grand fashion with Hugh Nicholson. Still they carried the stigma of Obla-Di Obla-Da and others, but hopefully this varied collection corrects the ship a bit.

Wasn't familiar with them until this century but this is the kind of British music that I like. Mostly I have only heard tracks from a greatest hits type 2 CD set but this video is a nice dive into other album tracks that are not on the CD.

It's fascinating regarding the pattern of creepiness that exists today. They weren't aware but desired the money. Average expectancy of a band 7 Years. All others are going to hell without question...like Stones, Zeppelin. Who.... Peace
