this was actually a pretty cool experiment. When I listen to Pharrell sing this song, obviously he sounds happy and is celebrating it. But this version? This makes me think of a man down on his luck, but he's still smiling, and wants other depressed people to smile along with him. At least, that's what i feel from this

Wonderful cover! Reminds me of their simpler days... Their newer stuff is pretty good, but just doesn't compare. Hopefully they'll do a full circle back to this sound eventually, because it's obviously not lost on them.

Their new stuff is so overproduced it's hard to tell if it's Maroon 5's new album or Adam Levine's album.

Lauren Clare lol it is Maroon 5, but the post production from the pop producers involved over did it with autotune and fillers. When they play live, it's a different story.

I'm bipolar since long ago and was searching for happiness. No wonder Pharrell's version sounds way more delight and makes you dance. It gets everybody moving, just take a look at the covers people do around the world. I like that very much, but I get to say Adam's is more soulful. It makes me feel so calm and peaceful when I close my eyes. It's never sad to me.

I love their newer songs too, they're truly beautiful as well. Artists are allowed to experiment and try new and cool things all the time. There's nothing wrong with that. Animals is their only horror-esque song and I always loved that about them. + the music video for it was chilling. Something straight out of a horror movie too and I absolutely dig that. I dig them willing to push the boundaries constantly. Like what Maroon 5's lead guitarist once said about their new style of music: We're evolving. -- And I couldn't agree more with that. You can't nor should do the same old thing over and over again. It will get bland, boring and stale real soon and then all you old fans will complain about that instead. Sorry, not.

+TyrtleMae how's it ironic?
@tyrtlemae52039 жыл бұрын
Ian Lim because Happy was written by Pharrell and Adam covers it. They are co-judges for The Voice. I find that ironic.
@limian19 жыл бұрын
+TyrtleMae err... coincidental might be a better word. Adam covering Happy isn't deliberately contrary to anything... unless there's some behind the scenes beef or whatever i don't know of.
@tyrtlemae52039 жыл бұрын
Ian Lim Maybe so. But I still find Adam attractive and hilarious. Which has nothing to do with the topic at hand because while I value your point ans realize my misuse, I really don't want to talk about irony anymore because I feel like a goofball. I knew what I was trying to say... and what I meant which was coincidental that it happened, but my mind was clouded with WAY to many story lines and plots and other story involving things to think of that darmed word.
