Lyrics : I asked her to stay But she wouldn't listen And she left before I had the chance to say, oh The words that would mend The things that were broken But now it's far too late, she's gone away Every night you cry yourself to sleep Thinking: "Why does this happen to me? Why does every moment have to be so hard?" Hard to believe that It's not over tonight Just give me one more chance to make it right I may not make it through the night I won't go home without you The taste of her breath I'll never get over The noises that you made kept me awake Oh The weight of the things that remained unspoken Built up so much it crushed us everyday Every night you cry yourself to sleep Thinking: "Why does this happen to me? Why does every moment have to be so hard?" Hard to believe that It's not over tonight Just give me one more chance to make it right I may not make it through the night I won't go home without you It's not over tonight Just give me one more chance to make it right I may not make it through the night I won't go home without you Of all the things I felt but never really shown Perhaps the worst is that I ever let you go I should not ever let you go, oh, oh, oh It's not over tonight Just give me one more chance to make it right I may not make it through the night I won't go home without you Oh, oh, oh It's not over tonight Just give me one more chance to make it right I may not make it through the night I won't go home without you And I won't go home without you And I won't go home without you And I won't go home without you

Yep, I remember listening to this when it came out. I remember being that teenage boy who applied this song to his insignificant relationship problems, even though they seemed so real and pressing. Hell, I probably even applied this song to girls who I wasn't even dating. Just some girl that I was being dramatic about. I remember walking around in the early 2000s, listening to the older people in their 20s being so annoyingly nostalgic about these things, wondering why they wouldn't shut up and enjoy themselves. I watched people who wanted nothing more than to go back in time to innocent days when the music made them feel real and alive, and I watched them become lost in their futures, becoming the even older people who had nothing but husbands, wives, or kids they were tied to for keeping them alive and sane. I watched it happen. I lived in the beauty of the moment, and now I'm just like those people who looked back into a past that will never, ever be lived again by anyone, no matter how bad anyone wants it. The beauty is gone, the moment is gone, and the world that opened its door to all of us is gone for many of us. We're not only looking into our pasts, we're also on the door step of the logical future. The car, the job, the spouse, the kids, finding joy in the must mundane and simple things, because we have no time to learn to appreciate the odd, off the wall ideas and experiences we had when we were younger. I'll see you all Monday in the form of every coffee-drinking, career driven maniac, motivated goal junkie, or emotionally depressed person who shows up to work because they're caught between wanting to die and being too scared to change their lives. I'll bet we could have been good friends in the good times. We could have done all the drugs, seen all the places, met all the girls and boys, but now we could never be any more than two people who hangout so someone will listen to their crappy, average problems, or someone to brag about their new Camaro to.

True indeed! It feels like I'm suffering everyday. Back then everything was just perfect, you had your weekends, holidays like summer vacations, winter vacations. Writing a letter to your crush was Something which used to give me goosebumps. Today's generation has all the resources currently but we had the limited options back then! The Internet and social media penetrated the Market after the 2007 properly when facebook, hangouts, iphone and Android came into existence in this world. Before these digital things, life was running smoothly as we had real friends. Those eras have been gone forever. Unfortunately!😢
Dont compare shits like girls like u to their classics like this and she'll be loved

I'm mostly into harder rock music. Alice In Chains, Metallica, Sabbath.... Even the later bands like Disturbed and Linkin Park.... RIP Chester. But I have always just loved Maroon 5. Adam is a beast and if you haven't seen his cover of Purple Rain, you are just missing out on life.

I know a lot of people don't believe in stuff like this but Im going to tell it anyways! My soulmate died in a car crash, we were together almost a decade and if felt like my heart literally was buried with him. Yesterday I was just sitting and thinking of him. My computer was in sleep mode. It comes on and starts playing this song. All the while the song is playing but my screen is still in sleep mode. It just made me smile.

F Styles Yes they’re still good, obviously. I just miss this music they made.

Meghan Gracie Sure thing,they've made unforgettable music!
@robymessina19986 жыл бұрын
I perfectly understand what you mean Meghan! I miss them a lot too, but not only them. Music has changed a lot trought the time, there's not the same style there used to be, with the exception of few singers! Now everythig focuses about drogues, money and girls! But I don't know, maybe it's just me that I'm too nostalgic(even cause songs like that made my childhood). This song used to be one of my favourites, along"She will be loved" and"This love"! Good old times! Good old times!

First heard this song at 14 and loved it, now I just turned 28 and still do. I can't believe a 14 year old me was listening to this. It's meaning applies to me more at my age now. Thanks to my younger self for great music.
