Wow, when Egypt and Mike explained the "Manish" part, she hit the nail on the head. I found myself being masculine because I didn't feel safe. I always felt that way but never could put that into words. She and Mike explained it perfectly, so thank you for that truth that so many couples experience. #thatpart

Yes every action stems from something... an emotion. If we can learn to articulate the emotion versus acting it out, we can communicate our needs better and in a way that can be reciprocated.

Just subbed. Didn’t know they had a podcast. I think a great unspoken takeaway from this….you first have to have a good foundation in a relationship. Dr Contessa and Dr Scott were very compatible. My husband and I both come from previous marriages. We were living the ideal life just a few days ago and I got some really bad news. Because we have a good foundation, I’m surprisingly not devastated. I actually said today, “When we get through this it will be a testimony”. I think in our community many couples come from dysfunction and bring that into a marriage. And one thing that’s certain is challenges, crisis will come. If you’re already on shaky ground (marrying someone whom you’re not equally yoked or not compatible) it will be almost impossible to stand.

That happened to me also. Citibank was waiting for me freshman year in the student union and I had no money or clue about money management because my parents didn’t talk to me about money . I didn’t get on track until my late 20s and fast forward many years, my credit score is excellent and I have been able to show my daughter the road to money management and 2 years after college, her score is fantastic. I just love your show and the topics you bring to surface.

Hello. This was a very good episode. Enjoyed your guest. Young people should be listening to this because nowadays people don’t put in the work to try and stay together, they get mad, and want to break up at the least little thing. Another words, they don’t want to listen or communicate with one another to try and solve the issues. 🥰🥰🥰

I agree w/Contessa on a lot of things, especially money. Most of my friends know if you ask me for money and I don't see you that day to return it, I will be calling you the next day. So, when I've given money, they call me immediately if they can't pay it back. And when they find out I move that way, they always stop asking.
