Those fabulous drums are all Adam Rupp, vocal percussionist extradorinaire. He is so talented. Any kind of drum, cymbals, ocean waves, birds, insects, harmonica, guitar, freakin' castanets! He never ceases to amaze me. And the backing vocals here are perfection. And then there's Austin just sailing off into the stratosphere like it's normal. Never liked this song, but guys killed it.

This was done during COVID and Austin (lead singer) was the only one in the studio and was looking at his now wife, Amberly while he was singing it. The others did their parts from home and the producer did a great job editing and putting everything together.

As you react to Home Free videos, you will find a number of them, like this, in which the guys are all in separate screens, or the view shows them in turn in different places, like in Folsom Prison Blues. In those, we were under quarantine, and they were recording each of their parts separately, then they were edited together. Also worth noting is that during quarantine, Home Free blessed us with a new video every two weeks, like clockwork. There were a lot of people whose spirits were lifted by anticipating each new song, then seeing reactions and discussing them in the comment threads.

As a marriage channel, I think the Stargazer Trilogy should be next. Yes, there are 3 songs that go together, and yes, there is an order to watch them in. 1. "Give Me A Sign" 2. "Stargazer Lillies" 3. "MR". Austin, the high tenor, wrote them over several years. They take you through the feelings of trying to find your love, finding them and what you would do for them. They are beautiful. But watching them in that order is a must.

Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.

I always loved the late Percy Sledge's 1966 original (not so much Michael Bolton's cover - I thought it rather over-wrought). I think he would have approved of their rendition. The singing, harmonies & beatboxing are - as always - terrific. Austin's lady Amberly was in the studio when this was filmed and that's who he was looking at. 3 of them are song writers and they each have channel(s) of their own. Austin's originals "Off the Grid", "Real Talk" & "If I Met You Now" (on his channel) are terrific.

Ive seen the origional video so i know how they sound but a lot of the things yall mention we cant hear because of it. I just wanted to let yall know. But i hope yall have a blessed day. Every sound you hear is just thier voice boxes unless its a collaboration with another artist then they may use some instruments.
