⁠@@markbrowning4334 You’re absolutely right about the interviewer, Clive Anderson. Clive was a very popular presenter as well as being a comedy writer and even at one point being a barrister. His approach was always tongue-in -cheek and the vast majority of his guests ‘got it’ and joined in with the joke. Barry Gibb, however, decided not to join in which makes me wonder why he was even on the show. I’m sure there were plenty of people who thought Clive was at fault, but there were also a significant number of people who thought Barry was a bit ‘up himself’ for what he did. I watched the show at the time and I was definitely team Clive.

That's always been one that I think wasn't entirely his fault. The type of show Clive Anderson does is just like that. He probably went overboard with the insults, even though they were meant to be good-natured, but obviously it was too much. He seemed to feel more comfortable with them than they did with him. So the way he was joking would have been appropriate if they were longtime friends, but clearly that wasn't the case.
