That was obvious to Shannon, another reason she stayed,an she loved him she had his children. I can't beleive how jades lots of lower income people are, work hard an sacrifice an maybe you'll understan,it done by great decision s,an priorities. Do you think Gene would have had a money hungry bimbo around? If yes you didn't listen to him speak nor her. He's frugal as he'll an didn't skimp on his family but didn't spend like a drunken sailor.

This interview gives a lot of insight into why Gene is 'serious' and is the way he is; even if you do not like him as a musician, you gotta respect his consistency, discipline and business-acumen. I think he is a great example for anyone trying to do any business, especially because he applied this business-acumen to an art form which is very hard to do, if not near impossible for a long time and he along with Paul have done it for 50 years. RESPECT.

My dad was 157th Regiment, 45th Infantry Division, came over age 18, Omaha Beach., was among the first US troops to enter Dachau. He never talked about the war at all, but he talked about how they received a whiskey ration 3x a day, more if they were not on march. Like many others, he returned to The States an alcoholic. He was career US Army, later did two tours each of Korea and Vietnam. Only by talking with his sister did I ever learn anything about his experiences in WWII. His 90s were spent in a nursing home as he had a long slow death from Agent-Orange induced Parkinson’s. Some of his men he served with in Vietnam visited him in his last year and told me stories from that era. No wonder he never slept.

I'll share my personal story with Kiss. I live in Australia . Kiss did a tour here. At the time, my 2 year old daughter was in the critical care unit of the children's hospital. Kiss had time to spare before their concert, so with no fan fare or press Kiss turned up in full character and played with the kids. And when I say they played with the kids, the guys got down on the floor and had the kids climbing all over them, I'm not sure who had the most fun that day❤❤❤❤❤

My father left Hungary when the Russians invaded, he went to England and later Australia, but 6 months after I was borne in the late 60’s we went back to Hungary, as he missed his mother and family, things were hard, I remember Hungary well, in 1976 we went back to Australia, with one bag between 4 of us, they wouldn’t let us take any money out or even any pictures. The first week I was back in Australia I remember seeing something amazing and scary on TV, it blew flames and had demon makeup on, it was gene, and so began my journey with Kiss, been to many concerts, thank you for a lifetime of great music.

Being a teenager in the 80's allowed me to be front row and center to the world's best music and bands! I knew who KISS was and had been to a concert in Evansville, Indiana to see them without their makeup and they were great. I had no idea that my adult autistic son would have a clue who they were until we were watching a movie where Paul and Gene made a cameo and they were singing, "I want to rock and roll all night"....he comes out of his room and said, "I love this song, I know this band KISS because they were on Scooby Doo!" He has been a fan ever since and had the opportunity to see them in concert in Nashville Tn. just a few years ago. Thank you Gene Simmons for waving at my son while he was playing air guitar at the side of the stage. Whether you waved or even saw him doesn't matter, he thinks you did and that is his claim to fame now! What an interesting man with a beautiful speaking voice!!

Incredible story of his mother. Should be a movie made of her life leading into her Son’s life, ultimately becoming a super star. My first concert as a 16 year old was Kiss in Ottawa in mid 70’s in the Ottawa Civic centre. It was an amazing performance, I was worried the roof was going to come crashing down the stadium was rocking so much from the concert goers dancing and stomping the night away. Kiss was Entertainment with a capital E. They put 200% into every performance, it was obvious they never took their audience for granted❤

Sadly, those "alleged humans" run the world today, and make up over half of the US population. The only difference is people are taught to agree with the oppressive nature of today's culture. Simply put, all of our rights in the bill or rights were considered critical by very good and smart founders, to protect us from government control. The all matter, and all should be absolute. If you like humanity, stand up for the original bill of rights as drafted.

As someone who grew up in the 70's and 80's I've seen many, many interviews with Gene Simmons but I must say this is probably the best I've seen. Gene is a very intelligent and savvy man but his telling of his early years and of his Mother is a fascinating and heart- warming/wrenching one. His ability to articulate his feelings and be honest about his experiences came through more so than other interviews where he comes across as a smart-arse on occasions. I did chuckle when he was talking about bands going on too long but apart from that I thought this was an excellent and honest interview. Piers Morgan isn't always my cup of tea but he interviewed well. Shannon Tweed is brilliant, funny woman.

Well capitalism and democracy have been pretty good to him. Of course without his intellect and marketing skills he wouldn't be where he is, but also the fact that his family got asylum here from nazi Germany would give any man lifelong gratitude and patriotism. People call him a hack but he's a very interesting, smart guy. Just because he knows how to work the system to his advantage people don't like him.

I am a HUGE KISS fan!!! In particular Gene is one hell of a nice guy who is smart, caring and humble. That's a lot to say of someone who has attained the kind of success he has in his life and career. Having Shannon as his wife is icing on the cake. Two genuine individuals who were most certainly meant to be. 👍❤

Massive respect for Gene. He’s such a great role model, and has a wicked sense of humor. The story he told of his mother and childhood was incredible and has shaped him in to who he is today. I remember when Kiss came on the music scene, they were like nothing we’d ever seen before, so unique and incredibly talented. He’s lived an incredible life, is a smart business man, and doesn’t take his fame for granted.

Role model? I bet he regrets his appearance in Decline Of Western Civilization Part 2. This is what I despise about Shannon. She knew Gene kept Polaroids of his "groupies" even after they had children. It was only when the children were approaching adulthood did she start pitching fits about his lifestyle.

'Role model'? Well, I suppose he is if you believe capitalist ideology and are interested *only* in accumulating huge amounts of cash (by selling plastic images of yourself in that three-chord-wonders band you play in) and f*****g girls young enough to be your grand-daughter...

@@holland736 Why? Because my opinion isn't the same as yours? Are you a fanboy for ol' Gene? No doubt you still pontificate (to anyone who'll listen) about what a classic album 'The Elder' is...hahaha. Not sure what 'meds' is/are. Your lack of punctuation rendered your comment almost incomprehensible but that's pretty much normal for a know-nothing Kiss fan. Interesting, though, that you didn't dispute my assertions about your boy Gene. We all know what kind of human being he is...and you are very probably exactly the same. Why don't you just retire to the nice bedroom your parents have given you and listen to 'Kiss Alive Vol. 27' as you play with your Kiss face paint.

Now, this was one heck of a nice interview. One which every second was so worthwhile it was unbelievable. I have just finished it and I find myself thinking of loss. I mean, this is the son of one holocaust survivor and he has done so much with his life up to now. He has influenced so many people, he has made so many happy moments and memories for so so many throughout the entire world, and yet, he is merely one son of one survivor. What of the millions of others who could have simply had become to be but never? This is so sad if you think about it through this perspective. What a disgusting, irreplaceable loss that whole affair was.
