@@Chiphtree hey Chip I’m going to Maui this summer with my family and trying to decide between this hotel the Marriott in Wailea and the Westin or Sheraton in Kaanapali. I have read that this area is a little more upscale than the north but wondering with the hotel aside which area is better to stay in for day trips Hana road haleakala snorkeling trips wtc and nightlife meaning restaurant choices walking around etc. do you feel there’s an advantage to Wailea over Kaanapali to stay or vice versa? Thanks for any help you can give

@@Markg488 I would stay in Kaanapali if you want more things to do, night life and more. Wailea is high end, laid back, with no night life. Driving to different attractions from either locations is a wash

Was there around Christmas holidays. All pool seats were occupied very soon. It’s such a beautiful hotel with spectacular views. I tried the two restaurants. The Asian restaurant has happy hours around 5:30 PM with each dish at only $10. They are delicious fine food. The bar by the pool also serves nice dinners, but a little pricy. Will definitely go back there! Thanks for the video!

A nice and helpful review. It does get confusing when you jump away from the Marriott Wailea to the other resorts (e.g., Grand Wailea) and you don't clearly state or show so. Otherwise, a pretty complete review.

Thanks for the info! If we stay at Wailea Bay can we also use the pools of the Grand Wailea? Also, are you aware of any restrictions to use the big tall water slide at Wailea Bay (height or weight minimums)? Thanks a ton

As far as I know you can only use the pool of the hotel you're staying at. I've never tried to use other pools. I can't remember if there were any restrictions for the slide, but lots of little kids were going down it so there are probably not strict

My favorite spot to stay! Always stay in Hale 7 ocean view King. And ALWAYS a reservation at Mama's Fish House is a must too! ❤

Hello Kelly…I would rent a car so you can get around. If you just want to go straight there and stay….I t’s probably cheaper to get a Lyft/Uber. Hope that helps

Killer video Chip!!!!! I think we're going to book here for March since I liked it so much. My family is going for 7 days & bringing our 2 kids ( ages 2 & 12) & think it would be fun to split up the time between 2 resorts. This great resort in Wailea and also The Westin Kaanapali , do you think that's a good idea to do? Have you spent time in both areas? Thanks for the great Hawaii info!

Yes because you can walk out your back door right onto the grounds….plus you can layout/hangout on your balcony which is a deck and you dont have to bother with the elevator or stairs.
