I watched yesterday. I loved the movie. I found it romantic, funny and she is so talented in everything she does. I love the actor Owen Wilson as well. I like his daughter in the movie, she looked a little like my daughter. As for Maluma-sings good. The movie is long, but I found it enjoyable and time passed. will watch again. I give it a 5.

I can explain the warping on the edges of the frame. So given that they were working with small studio space, they had to use a wider anamorphic lens. Notable examples of this kind of warping were in 2001 a space Odyssey when they had to use similar lenses in tighter spaces

Glad that you enjoyed the movie, it is definitely on my list. Thanks for the review! I started watching season 2 of Emily in Paris on Netflix today. So far it is just as charming as the first season.

I've seen the film once, watched it twice. Here's my question: Could this story fly if the roles were reversed? That is, a hot guy and a not-really-hot gal?

Thanks for reviewing this new movie! Loved your observations. I really loved this movie, watched it multiple times already on Peacock! I went into it fully expecting fluff, but also a sweet, cheesy rom-com with humor, and it delivered. I've always thought JLo was a very talented actress...she's pulled off a variety of roles in her acting career, but she really shines in rom-coms. And if you watch the extra footage for the making of Marry Me, she didn’t do this movie with the intention of winning an award, but to do something close to her heart (in the extra footage she says this movie was very cathartic for her because it mirrored her own life so much). She really brought heart and charm to Kat, and Owen Wilson was adorable and just as charming as Charlie, and I thought their chemistry was awesome. I know Wilson gets a bit of heat for his looks, but I think he’s actually super cute in his own way. Parker says Charlie has “off beat good looks” in one of the scenes…that’s exactly how I’d describe him too and he really was the perfect actor to play Charlie. Spoilers ahead for anyone who doesn't want to know! I was disappointed by a few things. First, I agree about that odd fish-bowl lens aspect in a lot of those scenes. It was odd. I had mixed feelings about the social media aspect of the movie...I didn't mind the Instagram stuff initially, but I did have an issue with it in the end...more on that later. But some other observations I had: I was a little thrown off by how the trailer for this movie showed scenes that were never in the actual movie, or they were extended scenes of scenes which I thought were much better than what they did use. So that was one of my first observations. Hoping those extra and extended scenes are on the DVD/Blu-ray. Secondly, I think that the movie felt a little choppy in some areas and I think there were aspects of the relationship between Kat & Charlie that seemed a little rushed throughout the movie. Had they fleshed out their time getting to know one another just a tad more (more conversations like the one they had on the phone instead of just scenes of him following her around) it would have been awesome. I was a little disappointed that there weren't a few more scenes of them as an actual couple too. They get together and then five minutes later they are broken up, and then only a couple minutes of them getting back together in the end. It was a shame because that was, in my opinion, a big missing piece. Marry Me just needed a little more between Kat & Charlie as a couple. The Wonder Wheel scene was so sweet…they needed to do more of that. The conflict of Kat potentially getting back with Bastian was fine, I fully expected that, but there needed to be a better transition scene. It felt a bit off going from a sweet-serious moment on a Ferris wheel to Kat hanging with Charlie and the kids at school to them basically breaking up. I think the lack of scenes that showed their “togetherness” of them as a couple kind of made it seem like there needed to be something else before Charlie goes to talk to her after she and Bastian did their performance. I loved Colin, Parker, and Lou, they were awesome and all the scenes with the kids were great. I feel bad saying this, but I absolutely couldn’t stand Mel…actress who plays her was and is amazing, but OMG, the character was just flat out mean! Like, OK, I get it, she thought Charlie was a dork and thought Kat was nuts for marrying him, but some of the things she says to him are just downright nasty. I think there should have been a scene in there where we actually see Mel change her mind about him and maybe root for him and Kat to make it together. I mean Mel ended up with the other Mathalon guy, so she can’t hate math teachers that much, lol. And of course, I adored JLo and Owen Wilson together, chemistry was awesome, and I just loved watching them do an actual rom-com together.... Anaconda was a bit scarier (LOL). I just wish Marry Me had taken more advantage of their awesome chemistry and had more scenes of them together romantically, especially at the end. I think there were a few scenes in the movie that could have been trimmed to add more in the end. Honestly, them getting re-married at the end is what I was expecting (same with a couple of my friends) and it would have been so sweet and tied in Kat proposing to Charlie in the end. Lastly, I really didn't care for the Instagram part of the ending...it definitely made it feel less personal, and in a way, was doing exactly the opposite of what Kat ended up wanting in her life. She began to value more of her privacy and didn't mind not having cameras around her all the time, and while I fully expected her to have Mel and company do live feeds on occasion, I was a little disappointed that they ended the movie that way. It was an easy way for them to rush through showing us Kat and Charlie's life together...I get it, but it could have been done better. I liked the individual stories at the end, but that felt like a rip-off of the ending of When Harry Met Sally and I’d rather have something more original or just a few more minutes of the actual movie. But aside from those observations, I still loved it and I can't wait to buy it when it's available for purchase. It was a great feel-good movie that we really needed during these crazy times. Sorry for the long rant, thanks for reading! New subscriber 🙂!
