On 0:05 Fun fact or spoiler alert: the tower that got knocked down and demolished by the martians it’s actually called “the landmark hotel” and it was demolished the year before this movie was released and it was a casino as well and the main reason why it was destroyed it’s because due to bankruptcy that occurred back in 1985 and 5 years later it was shut down and closed up until the whole implosion that occurred in 1995 and afterwards Tim Burton used the footage of the implosion and put it into the film itself the year later.

But at 1:23 you see the giant globe roll out of the window as it falls? What is that, a model composite effect, or did that really happen and so they wrote in the gag of him getting squashed by the globe with his back to the window?

The joy of seeing those Martians dance at the top of the sequence and the bummer of seeing Jim Brown go down at the end has been a fun/sad memory since the movie came out. Yeah I know how the movie ends, just talking about the impact at the time. BUT, the good news is, those back-up dancing Martians has been an easy-access memory my mind always wanders to.

If the aliens are actually going to invade us we have to prepare ourselves by arming ourselves or when we have to use the Martian’s ray guns to fight back or when the US government has to sent some troops with bazookas, with m16 assault rifles and some troops with mini-guns. As for the military vehicles if they want for backup to obliterate the aliens, the US government can sent some tanks like the m1 abrams or some artillery like the M142 HIMARS to obliterate them Or if they want to use a weapon that can obliterate them even further, they can use a nuclear bomb to finally defeat them for good.

@@kensolar69 See the episode of the Twilight zone called 'the monsters on maple street ', where the aliens get ppl to turn on each other simply by turning off the lights in houses randomly and so forth. They could easily make it seem like let's say Russia set off an emf pulse weapon on the US. I remember a science fiction short story where an alien race helped pick up the pieces after civilizations destroy each other, in return for needed natural resources. The aliens are observing the earth, seeing atomic and hydrogen weapons, pollution. A human comes in contact with them, and they mention that resources varied, that some planets sent manpower, others created goods or food or materials. The aliens even talk about possibly triggering an event since it hadn't happened on earth. It ends with the human telling them they are vultures preying on species misfortunes, not saviors.

The opening credits are great, but then it does that really boring 70s disaster movie thing of showing all the characters' back stories when all you want is to get to the action. Parts are great, other parts no so. If it had been cut down to the length of a 50s B movie and all the soap opera stuff of characters' family problems etc cut out, it would have been much better.

So just as much STUPID schit back then as there is now! So the speaker ignores the OBVIOUS stuff shaking all over the room as if nothing unusual is happening. Tired of stupid producers, writers, etc
