It's true!jajajaj Everybody visiting Marsala has that sensation of a tiny town. Most of the tourists enter through the Porta Garibaldi and they stroll up to the amazing Cathedral and if they have time,they reach Porta Nuova,and that's it!. On the contrary,I would define my town as "citta' territorio" which has no translation in english,but the meaning is that it is more a vast territory than a simple town! If you consider that from south Marsala up to north you can drive up to 30 km you can realize how big it is!

Those clouds at 9:15 are amazing. As for the Marsala, I can't imagine more than a tiny glass of it, as I use it only to make desserts like zabaglione. But maybe it goes with the cheeses?
@Buio02093 жыл бұрын
Ok: It's important understand Marsala is not a wine that you can drink to dine. This kind of wine is not suitable even as an aperitif because it is very strong. It's a fortified wine that you can drink at the end of a meal like a digestive.

I've heard that Marsala wine is best to be used in cooking. I like a strong wine.
@ermelindalombardo14772 жыл бұрын
Not only for cooking.It's excellent as an aperitif with aged cheese and as dessert wine too. Actually, any moment is perfect for sipping a marsala wine! The history of this wine dates back to 1773 when some English merchants discovered it during their stay in Marsala, for other reasons. As they were(and still are) heavy drinkers they decided to export it to England. So to avoid the wine got ruined during the long journey back to their country, they added brandy to the local wine. By so doing they created the "fortified wine"which was later on called Marsala Wine. The wine is classified based on colour, age and sweetness. The alcohol content ranges from 18° up to19° and it is made mostly from white berries grapes but from the red ones too(in that case we have the Ruby Marsala). I'd like to stay hours writing about this amazing wine...!

Guys, all Italy has siesta, all year long, so just be aware of time 13.30-16.00. Hope this info will help you in your Italian travel

In the north there is no siesta ( which is a Spanish word..).. People at work have a lunch break, usually an hour, most shops don't close at all... But in the north people have dinner at 7/7.30 not at 9.30/10 like on the south!
