Marseille Maxed - World of Warships Blitz

There was a sufficient amount of suggestions coming in on the comment section of my Marseille review that I figured, might do a "maxed out" follow-up and address these as well, since I'm at it.
Unfortunately, that meant I had to play Marseille again. Well, what happens if you throw all the possible money at it? As they say, "you can't polish a turd".

My theory is that it's down to pathfinding. They try to avoid island collisions, and in order to make that happen, all usual restrictions on turning are disabled for them, such that they can move at will. You'll find that the more islands there are, the more bots tend to dance around. Also, if you fire torpedoes at them, they will randomly change course, although I'm not sure if that's intentional or just a side effect of the "target closest enemy ship" algo, in combination with the aforementioned collision avoidance. I did a video about this a while back. Again, purely my theory, but I think the bot code was done "on the quick" to give early players something to shoot at, and to test things in bot games. As such, is possibly separate from the main code, and hasn't been touched in 5 years. You'll see that bots only have the ships that were available at launch, the original USN and IJN lines.

I appreciate that at the end you just went in and let the other team take you out. I've been in games where the other team gets demolished with several minutes left. The one remaining destroyer runs off and hides in a corner. Dude, you already lost, just give it up so we can all go to the next game.

IDK man i really like the Brest like a LOT, it just took me a while to get used to the funky ballistics. In Brest i generally give more vertical lead than you are in this vid, like aiming farther below the waterline for targets moving toward you, also it seems to me like making sure that i'm not turning while firing makes my dispersion not be a total crap shoot. My build does not include the stealth module because i just take a Richie-style hang back central position at the beginning and HE spam, once i've found an isolated target like a weakened BB or light cruiser i pounce, fire up the RR and speed boost and AP at close range because these guns slap, I can outbrawl Iowas consistently in ranked and as long as i catch a rushing DD head on i can reverse faster than they can sail. My build is precision, traverse, and speed.

I’ve never really noticed a difference between single and salvo fire. For me, it’s where and how I aim. I do play on a tablet that makes taking the auto-aim off easier.

Thanks Terry!, I got it cheap, and was worth the cost, near zero! Thought it might be kinda fun to kite away from DD’s with all those secondaries, but even that doesn’t work for me.

Bot behavior is maddening. They need to fix this. I can see new players who will face them often, just get frustrated and give up.

Anybody notice this??? It seems like they got smarter a week or so ago. Ive actually had bots shoot well aimed torps at me more than once a battle. They used to only try to sink islands LOL!!! Did WG maybe tweak them last update and forgot to mention it???

Yes, I'm using two devices & two accounts, and then have one being a static target in the training room. I've requested a feature for a while to have a static target ship available, maybe one day 😄

I've noticed the engine accelerator ship skill does not increase acceleration speed, only the top speed , so to get the most of my engine acceleration ship skill charges I wait until I've reached top speed before engaging skill.

Not really, in my opinion. T10 BBs outrange her, even after the recent buffs. The AA is mediocre for T10, and you have not much utility against DDs. You'd also neglect the speed in a static play, which is one of her better points. Plus, if you're operating at max range, you can't really hit anything. If you're looking for a support supercruiser, Puerto Rico or Alaska are better choices. If it doesn't have to be 300mm+ on the guns, Des Moines or Worcester.

Your doing it right. You can't play at range or at close quarters or far. Can you do a vid on how to deal with the Kaga it is overpowered and only a Saipan can deal with her but many don't have Saipan
