The Origin is great, especially for an amp in that price range. But the JCM with its 2 additional EL34’s sounds fantastic to my ears. Thanks for putting this together \m/

For the cleaner stuff, I actually preferred the Origin 50. Once more gain was added, the JCM800 re-gained (heh) the avantage. Even at higher gain, the Origin 50 did not embarrass it self as far as I'm concerned. Thank you for taking the time to make the video.

Dude my son just bought a origin 50 last year and I appreciate the vid, because I'm still getting used to it,so pay no attention to those critics, thanks again

You always do great videos. I think the 2 would sound very similar in all aspects if you leave the tilt in full hi treble channel mode. I do believe the master volume series were based off of the bright channel on the plexi amps. That would give the Origin 50 the definition you stated the 800 had on it. As you have both amps, please give a try and shout back at me on the results. THX.

I bought the origin 50 while I still had my 1987X. Different but both good amps. I finally got rid of everything bigger than I was going to use, as I don't play out any longer.

I got a display Origin 50 at guitar center for $449 with full warranty. Can’t beat it for the price when you compare to the cost of the JCM800. I think Origin with a few good drive pedals and an EQ pedal would put it right there with the 800 and at a third of the cost. Great demo! Love your origin videos!

Honestly, the Origin sounds better to me in this comparison

Agreed. More balanced and open, not as quacky as the 800.

Dollar for dollar the Origin for what it is is a great amp. I found one for $500, but now Im leaning toward the SV20H lol.....I dunno, still a lot of money. May just go with the origin 50 and call it a day.

Seems like the origin does exactly what it’s supposed to. Get you a slew of old school Marshall tones on the cheap. Hangs pretty damn well with that 800 I think!

I own both amps and I can tell you that the Origin 50H needs a lot of effects pedals to get a great sound unlike the JCM.

Bought one today. It's incredible value and at 5 watts it's already facemeltingly scrumptious. The built in boost is tasty as hell and if you pop a good old Boss SD-1 overdrive into your chain you got the most versatile amp you can imagine, and can boost that low end nicely. I've tried several different sounds, even ones that should suck, and none sucked. Thanks Father Marshall ! She's a steal. Sounds great on both my London City Bulldog cab and the good old Laney which is a bit darker sounding. Sold !! DID I MENTION IT'S LOUD? DEAFENINGLY LOUD? It is.

is it possible to use the origin 50 if i play metal or heavey rock without pedals?
@Crypticmaskguitar Жыл бұрын
Depends on what you would consider Metal. I did a "Marshall Origin 50 NO TALKING" video that does some higher gain without pedals... does it alright. But at the same time it's a specific sound and needs to be REALLY LOUD in order to do it. Cheers -Ryan

@@Crypticmaskguitar oh thnaks . is it a reliable amp? i mean is it durable?
@Crypticmaskguitar Жыл бұрын
I only use it in a Studio Setting. I have 37 amps so it doesn't get used as a "Main Amp". I really wouldn't be able to speak on its' reliabililty. Cheers -Ryan

@@Crypticmaskguitar thanks ryan.. i am planning to buy my first real amp.. marshal dsl 20,peavey classic 20,katana or vox ac15.. i want an amp that is durable and reliable since i dont have money for repair or buying new.. from your own experience wheres amp is most reliable on these 4 amps ive mentioned?
@Crypticmaskguitar Жыл бұрын
I haven't had any experience with the 20 watt versions. I have owned a Classic 50 (Which was awesome, but loud fan), I own a DSL 100HR (I've read about some reliability issues), and I own an AC30CCH (One of my favourite amps). I still couldn't speak to reliability as I use my amps in a studio setting and I have so many. Cheers -Ryan
