I run a Bogner La Grange pedal through one of these and it sounds great for that 80's rock and metal. Pedals are so subjective and often take some experimenting to find the right combination. I picked up an origin 50 for dirt cheap as I had nothing for the old plexi like tone. With La Grange I can get AC/DC to old judas priest sounds with only a few bones. I do not use this sound very often, like you I am more into more modern amps 99% of the time. They want like 3 grand for a real plexi which is just so ridicules for such a simple circuit. Thanks for showing that you can take this budget amp and get great 80's tone with a couple of good pedals. As always, I enjoy your reviews as we have similar ideas in what kind of sound we want out of our gear.

Hell yeah man! i played one at a guitar shop here not long ago. They had a white one with the gold trim and it was beautiful. Sounded and felt great and looked really cool. I didn't use any pedals at the shop just straight in. Thanks for making this video. Might grab one of these and slam the front end of it with pedals. I kind of like making old amps do modern things for some reason. I know this is not an old amp but its obviously modeled after those old Marshalls from back before high gain. If you are the type of person that does not use pedals and just wants to plug in and get 5150 level gain it wont be for you at all. But for those of us with loads of pedals we can probably get metal sounds out of just about anything really.

Great video, thanks for the tips on the MT15! I see the TW OBLIVION did post on the Line 6 website. I still would be interested in the preset for the Pod Go if you got the time to do it.

You're a hell of a player, and I appreciate you getting out of your comfort zone with lower gain amps. Would love to see you try some more traditional/old school guitars from Motorcity too. I think you'd be surprised how good your playing would sound with a lower gain guitar that plays nice with a mid or high gain amp.

Every amp has there own sound and tone and using the right Pedal does matter! I have a Blackstar and using my Friednan BE-od in the front end sounds so much better than pedal i have. Not bad amp! Its not for me even so. Cool video

That sounds good to me, maybe a Mr. Scary hot tone installed and possibly get some metal tones. Just curious, do you use your OX to attenuate? If so, how much does it affect your tone?

So i just canceled a bugera g20. Got cold and spent the extra 200. I have an 87 ss marshall i, really enjoy. I didn't know about the super od thing. It does sound good on the ss marshall i have. I think i made the right decision. Both drives sounded good. But i have yet to warp my mind on the internet with guitar opinions.

Friedman is PSvane tubes for reliability with a JJ in v1 for tone. We would be screwed if the Chinese didn’t make tubes.

I'm really happy with my fortingrind blackout with my valveState 8100 marshall. I guess I'm wrong too because I'm not using a super OD 😂

that sounded like lofi black metal with the super overdrive on haha. Not your fault. It's like you said, it's a vintage classic rock amp. Curious for when you can demo the Generator 50 vs the Generator 120.

I have a question for you after my statement. I have limited experience with great tube amps. When I plugged into a dsl100h, it floored me. I think it was EL34. Question: can you give thoughts on how power amp tubes give you 'that sound'? El84s didn't do it for me and I have no experience with 6l6 or 6v6.

When people say use an sd-1 I would take that as use an sd-1 type pedal ( which the mud killer clearly is ) , you just need to use a bit of common sense 🤔🤣
