The Tone is what everyone used to strive for, and here we have it. This amp is great Hennen, thanks always for your great work. Cheers.

Awesome sounds but for the cost of these I would sooner look at Friedman amps. The cost especially as a canuck is pretty brutal. I do hope the future of Marshall improves but them now being procured by Hongshan (private equity firms are ruining a lot of things) has me even more uncertain for its future now.

> : proceeds to show guts with vishay capacitors and cts pots plus crappy resistors 😂. For half this price tag I can build it with Mallory capacitors which sound like mustards, use tocos Japanese military grade pots with low tolerances, and finally using good quality 1w carbon film resistors. This is medium quality components on a high price tag… Marshall should take a look at the suhr super leads to see what a real amp is made out of…

I agree with you on Marshall's BT products. I've got a pair of over-ear headphones, a pair of in-ears and a speaker and they all deliver great sounds! Only thing I don't like is the app/behavior of the in-ears. But they all have that barky Marshall signature sound with focus on the mids.

Dear Marshall, Hi there. I hope you're doing well. Seems like you're up to some prettttty cool things. Would be nice if we here, in the US of A, could readily partake in all the fun like our European friends, and, most importantly, see "Marshall" on top of our stacks without having to settle for some dude's 20 year old used and abused "like new" gear... Sincerely, Everyone in the US who's been waiting for an amp from you that eventually buys a Freidman PS 13:35 😂😂😂

Love the new Marshalls. Excellent review as usual. Tough choice between the Plexi and JCM800. The Plexi is so classic and awesome however the JCM800 is THE amp for Metal and 80’s ROCK. Love the sparkling cleans and muscle of the Plexi and the classic high-gain roar of the JCM800. Guess both would be ideal. I wonder which one Henning prefers?

I'm thinking, if this is the sound you want, this amp is it. It gets it in spades. It can't be mistaken for anything else really. Very "Marshally" if that's a thing you can call it. Sweet.

I'd be curious as to why this costs about 1.7x the price of the 1959 HW. Which, at least superficially, looks like it is constructed very similarly. Without knowing more the pricing does very much look like a move out of the playbook of that G company which shall not be named. But then selling amps exclusively to blues lawyer demographic will hardly sell more bt speakers and headphones so I'm a bit confused as to what is going on here. Also curious when Mario will come out with the next modded Marshall he hinted at. :)
@hootowl63542 күн бұрын
It's priced that way because the mods are from the factory. The name Marshall means something in the aftermarket. Depending on how many they sell, this will probably be worth more someday. If someone mods their stock 1959HW it will likely go down in value.

It’s out of proportion. The price, I mean. It does matter how crazy you are, or how thick is your wallet when we talk about this kind of proportions. So, for my level of craziness and the thickness of my wallet, the price is out of proportion.

These products are 15 years late with no additional modern features either. I’ll go to Friedman or headfirst before Marshall esp now they’ve been bought and sold a few times over.
@Rantila718Күн бұрын
That’s funny. I heard just today that they’ve been bought by the Chinese so I would think that that is the beginning of the end for Marshall just like Gibson is killing Mesa boogie
@Parcolai2 күн бұрын
As awesome as this sounds, this is still a lawyer/dentist/retired boomer/pro studio amp. I think Marshall needs a lightweight, 20 Watt max, IR capable line that captures these classic sounds well but isn't going to cost over $3000 CAD. Maybe around $1000. Even that is a stretch because they are now competing with modellers that are increasingly good.
@kuitaristi30032 күн бұрын
It's just sad that they put master volume to the high channel lower second imput which is the best imput my opinion.
@Markusaldrich20 сағат бұрын
It sounds good but for this price it has no Effectloop, what’s in my opinion a dealbreaker. When I buy a "normal" 1959 I could let it modded and it’s cheaper.

MORE TOTAL STUPIDITY FROM MARSHALL..... 1) WHO wants/needs a 100w amp in 2025 with no variable wattage options ?? 2) Marshall have mod'ed it with a few non footswitchable tone switches - Big deal. What about adding 50w and 10w options, a headphones out and reverb. We get very little for over $3000. 3) Reduce price to under $2000 cos you can easy buy a used Plexi and get it mod'ed to taste for around $1000. 4) Better still - if you want a much better Marshall style amp get a Friedman 5) Marshall have gone same as Vox and Fender. Just a cynical profit driven company totally relying on an old reputation.
@kesamek8537Күн бұрын
They didn't even do the extra preamp valve mod, which is the one everyone wants. No power scaling. No decent fx loop. Mindless.
@Stoffe9582 күн бұрын
The pricepoint of these modded amps are so off its ridiculous. What are Marshall doing? So late to the game, overpriced and still crappy stuff inside. With their heritage, things could have been done so much better.
