Eddy can you do an Van Halen Mod on the Marshall studio vintage head too? Thanks CHRIS!
@EddyLenz3 жыл бұрын
Not sure what a van Halen mod would be. Just crank with with a variac and maybe an eq in the front :D
@BalconyMusicStudios3 жыл бұрын
This Mod sounds even better on this amp then on the Marshall SV20H or is at the recording sound that was much better!?
@EddyLenz3 жыл бұрын
That's just due to different mic positions, because I moved them a few times since the other video. In the room they sounded the same.
@BalconyMusicStudios3 жыл бұрын
@@EddyLenz thanks Eddy , in the videos they sound a little bit different... and in terms of feel , how they play, dynamic etc which one you prefer!?

@@BalconyMusicStudios they really didn't feel any different haha.

@@EddyLenz ok then probably the Sv20 its better to work on because it has already 4 holes so you dont have to drill a new one 😂😂😂

That amp sounds AMAZING!!!🤘🏻 Great playing as well. Can you tell us who modded the amp for you? If so, can/will you provide us with their information?? Again..fantastic sounding amp, man. Sounds better than my full size 2203 with the #34 mod. Amazing tone.👌🏻👍🏻

Thanks! I modded it :D

This sounds almost exact the same as the sv20 version you modded. Are the almost identical once you have modded them? Sounds great

They are identical after the mod.

It sounds like more gain but I don't think it is, it's extremely clean in terms of gain and how articulate you can get with it. Whats it like in real life?

I mostly feel like it always sound like more gainy recorded than in the room

Is your amp modded exactly like Slash’s #34 or did you deviate in any way? I assume you incorporated the ‘hot-shield’ part of the #34 mod as well? What preamp and power tubes are you using??
@EddyLenz2 жыл бұрын
On bigger Marshalls I do the mod exactly like the original, but on these small 20W ones I have a few tweaks.

You nailed it! Do you have hum when you engage the fx loop?
@EddyLenz3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! No, but the FX loop in these isn't good. It changes the tone quite a bit.
@SWOURDAS_BABIS3 жыл бұрын
@@EddyLenz I return mine back to thomann, because when the fx loop was on, a hum noise was heard plus a volume drop!!! I google it and fint out that many others have the same problem, personally i think that after Jim Marshall's death, Marshall industries drop the standards so damn low, they don't give a fuck!!! Too shame for a HUGE Name!!!
@EddyLenz3 жыл бұрын
That sucks. Their loop design just isn't good. Don't know why they can't make a better one...
@fidget43043 жыл бұрын
How do you find these compare to the 100 watt ones?
@EddyLenz3 жыл бұрын
I think they're really good. If anything, maybe slightly more compressed, but it's really hard to say without a direct comparison with a 100W amp with the same circuit.

What is a Slash mod? I have this amp? Thanks
@EddyLenz3 жыл бұрын
It's the Frank Levi #34 and #36 mod which adds a preamp tube and changes the preamp. Slash used these mods on the GnR albums and the #34 also after that.

It's because of how the amp is built and the circuit being completely different from the other two.
