As the gigs goes i notice that my 2203x is little bassy and muddy so i start rolling bass pot back on 4 to get more definition and clarity while playing lower strings, specialy when performing rock n roll riffs. Cool! Big difference: SD-1 is a mid boost od so if you put it after BE-OD, which is a preamp kinda pedal it’d be the same than putting SD into amps effect loop and that would sound horrible ’cos then you’re pretty much reducing all frequencies except mids 😎. Thanks!

I found that the best boost I have used with my Jubilee is the ZW44. I believe it is a clone of the SD-1. Something about the voicing on the SD-1 makes it pair really well with the Jubilee. Some times I run two boosts with it. I run the ZW44 all the time for rhythm and use a tube screamer for leads.

Hey, very nice comparison and playing! I have England made JCM 2000 DSL 100. Do you think it's worth to buy jubilee and will the difference between the two will be big? I'm also using SD-1, because it's just sounds right with Marshall. Keep on!
@EugeValovirta230V4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Those England made DSLs are really good. Jubilee has clipping diodes in the preamp circuit wheres DSL’s gain is pure tube driven. They both are really good but since you’re already using a clipping diode (SD-1) I’d stick with the 2000. But that’s just my opinion 😊. I’ve done a few videos of the DSL also so might want to check those ouy too 😉
@guitarexpert22454 жыл бұрын
I can answer that since I have both. They sound completely different. The S.J is a darker tone. Has the 800 growl with a darker tone. Some love that tone some don't. I'm on the fence. However, if you had both they sure wouldn't be over lapping. If you got an 800 it would sound closer to the 2000 with less gain. I think that would be redundant.

I'm trying to understand why I see so many 800s and 900s up for sale on the internet? @EugeValovirta230V4 жыл бұрын
The Genelec’s are 8020C if I remember correct. I use those just to monitor myself when I’m recording so it’s not the sound you hear 😊. The amps go to Suhr Reactive Load IR and from there to Focusrite audio interface and from there to Logic which I use to record the audio. Then I just edit the audio and video together in Final Cut. The cab is just there to look good. I mean I couldn’t be in the same room with cranked amps into 4x12 cab and I think my neighbours wouldn’t like that too ’cos it’d be loud as F 😎

@@EugeValovirta230V In this video the Jubilee sounds way better than the 800, like an 800 but with steroids, more present, more gain, better definition! Your Jubilee boosted with the SD-1 sounds devastating!!

@@Umbral_Heavy_Metal_Band I boost my Jubilee with a ZW44 and it is my favorite boost so far, I think the ZW44 is basically a clone of the SD-1. Something about the SD-1 makes it blend really well with the Jubilee.

Try the Jubilee with 6550 power tubes and 2 2x12 speakers one with celestion century speakers and one with creambacks or with a 4x12 with greenbacks or creambacks...no jcm 800 can compete..i had the 2204...the Jubilee destroys it...much more gain...without pedals with a guitar with pickups like superdistortion you play iron maiden on the clean...i repeat the clean channel with rhythm clip engaged...no pedals .....i have a 2555x with 6550 and a les paul R8 with superdistortion so i know what i am sayin’
@brpadington4 жыл бұрын
@@marcopanza1011 I totally agree. I got a 2555x in 2015 when they came out. I have not tried the 6550s in the power section yet but that was what Kerry King used to use until he discovered the KT88s. I have guitars loaded with EMGs and Duncan JBs and the clean with clip gives a good classic metal sound with no pedals. I like to boost the lead channel for heavier styles. The Boost really helps when you play at lower volume levels.

I keep an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail reverb on all the time, just to open up the room a bit. I've owned a bunch of amps (I'm old), and this one is ToneHenge! (for now, haha).
