Nice demo and I've got an original 87' 2555 and Marshall did a fantastic job on the reissue!

@Acrylic Recording I prefer the MF280 with "Vintage" (V30's) speakers with a Jubilee vs the K100's in the MF400.

Excellent demo, some nice playing. I gather the first riff was from “Man in a box” by Alice in Chains? Are you using any pedals?

Thanks for the kind words! All of the riffs are from Man In The Box actually! haha. No pedals on these Jubilee's no. I do have another video comparing these two to a 2204 and a JCM2000 and I use an SD-1 on the 2204 because it doesn't have enough gain to compare to the others.

I have the 2558 and the reissue 2525 head version. To me the reissue sounds better but I'm thinking there's something wrong with my 2558. So I'm wondering at what volume and gain settings your 2558 starts to sound good? The lead channel on my 2558 sounds fuzzy even with new tubes and biassing done. So either something is wrong or I'm not cranking it up loud enough.

Hey, so from my experience the 25w reissue vs the 100w vs the 50w vintage are all pretty similar, but the 25w is very easy to max out the headroom and hit the poweramp harder and faster. Which is good if you like that sound but I found it limiting in the studio and playing with louder bands. Either way I don't think they should really all sound THAT much different. Sounds like there's another issue with the 2558, possibly a cap or something. I'd also make sure you're playing them through the same cab just to make sure that's not the difference you're hearing. I do think that older amps in general sound fuzzier just from the degradation of parts over time, which depending on your taste could be a good or a bad thing. I think this is why some people much prefer some vintage amps over their newer counterparts. Of all the jubilees, I kept the 100w reissue. Build quality was much better than the old one and I found it to be much more punchy and aggressive, though I did like the smoothness of the vintage 50w as well. They're just different. Good luck fixing your amp! Hopefully a competent tech can check it out.

I mean its not an evertune.. but its pretty in tune dude. Maybe you're talking about the lead part with lots of vibrato ? lol
