I’ve been looking for an easy way to make a marshmallow filling for S’mores Macarons and this looks perfect! Do you think I could get away with just mixing store bought buttercream with the marshmallow fluff and call it a day? 😋

Probably, but if you are going through the trouble to make macarons, I would make homemade buttercream too. It doesn't take that long and would definitely taste better.

Hello, thank you for sharing this recipe- it's definitely one of my favorites! When you mentioned using this for a smores cake I thought about adding Nutella to this mixture! Have you tried that before with this recipe? Do you think it would change texture?

Thanks so much for this recipe, it looks delicious! How long can this sit at room temp? I want to use it for cupcakes I have to transport a few hours away that will probably sit out another several hours once there.

Buttercream like this can sit out for several days as long as it isn't too hot out.

I haven't tried, but that would be fun! I'd be worried the butter would melt before the sugar would caramelize. An Italian meringue would probably be better. But if you try it, I'd love to hear how it goes!

Yes, you can. It is really sturdy. I would use it anywhere you can use American buttercream.

I usually use salted. Just add a pinch of salt if you use unsalted.

Fluff tastes like marshmallows, but it spreadable. Adding it to this frosting gives it a nice marshmallow flavor.
