Your tournaments occasionally come up on my feed and I keep forgetting how brutal this game is.

Nothing I love more than a good old rocket rush
@Fluffiges9 ай бұрын
Its not the first time greenleaf uses these kind of strats. Marshmallenesis could have just studied the last Fpl game of green leaf on this map and developed a counter to this strat. We are gonna ignore that the last match with this strat in the pro league was against Matteo and Mcc, and green leaf won!
@vykro_eng9 ай бұрын
"Developing a counter to rockets" is not as simple as you may think. Knowing they're coming is not enough. You should know that rocket attack is one of the most difficult strategies to defend against in the entire game. The fact that Matteo and Mcc - some of the best players in the world - have lost to this strat tells something. I guess studying our previous games and expecting us to do a rocket attack would at least help them consider picking something else than Warthog, which by the way is one of the worst commanders you can have when being attacked by rockets or mortars.
@Fluffiges9 ай бұрын
@@vykro_eng I can only agree with your statement. Countering rockets is something that not only takes skill experience and an early knowledge of whats happening, but also dedicated pre planned set ups and trenches. The desision to rather defend than counter attack or vice verca can change the outcome of a whole battle. Preparation against that strat makes up, from my experience at least about 60%, but the rest just needs insane amounts of Skill.
@Exknight28 ай бұрын
@@vykro_eng You guys have a well-set strat that is vicious and unforgiving once online, I think in this game I would want to see a better defense from your opponents other than a single fire beam cutting all their AA, the game is predictable once your endless rocket/missile spam is online, maybe it was a lack of effective response from the opponents since rebuilding AA after shotguns shut them down does nothing and dmg keeps pilling up on build time.
@vykro_eng9 ай бұрын
A bit of an odd editing in this video. Cuts are very apparent, and the instant replay at 6:58 starts with readjusting the camera. I suppose mixing the leagues have put you on a tight schedule :/

I like how professional Incursus is while we the viewer can see how 1 sided this is lol.

I mean it’s also closer than you think a lot of the time. Events can very rapidly take an unexpected turn

LOL in the first match the firing of the buzzsaw at the last falling base! Double-tap of your opponents is the only way to be sure! EDIT: 6:55 ... thanks @tomsoyer6195 for reminding me a timestamp can be helpful for those who missed it and would like to go back to watch!

Love Green Leaf Marshmallenesis could have tried to hide their doors and armour better, also, tech swapping to cannons wasn't the best idea. If Full-Felicis kept using Nukes, but got a fire beam while trying to get the Laser tech, they could have used the fire beam to cut off Dranistian since its laser deletes bullets without HP like mgs and flak. Fun matches though.

Gotta be honest those shotguns seem unnecessarily strong when it comes to supressing creating AA defences, i didnt even know this game had shotguns added
@TomJerry129339 ай бұрын
their a upgrade to the AA so it makes sense--and also why they are balanced because their not cheap (200+300) and take a while to build on top of requiring the upgrade-building.
@nikolaysitnikov7969 ай бұрын
I think the right decision here for Marshmallow would have been to get snipers or shotguns of their own and try to destroy the shotguns because they take a long time to replace. They didn't prepare well, and were suppressed (although it was quite close for a long time even without preparation.)
@mcdodge66799 ай бұрын
@@TomJerry12933 ah I understand, so they only really seemed unbalanced in this situation because marshmallow wasn't playing nearly agressive enough to take the shotguns out
@r2020E8 ай бұрын
@@mcdodge6679 yeah shotguns are fairly expensive and not attritable. You need to first place a flak then upgrade to have a shotgun. Door sniping shotguns is also a valid solution. I’m surprised that sniping was not used to contest map control. The way they gave up map control vs rockets cost them the match
@akrisbarlok28349 ай бұрын
I really wonder why Laven wasn't instantly getting a sniper, so he could fire his missles. Sure, Green Leaf had shotguns, but used them against aa, so at least some of the swarm could have killed the enemy rockets

I agree to this. There has to be more interesting matches so far than... Watching top tier players swat lower tier players. Also: Please. No more matches like this! I'd rather watch two first time players fail at killing each other with your narrative, than watch a pro win two matches uncontested!
@vykro_eng9 ай бұрын
@@kwaad2I think you guys are selling Marshmellenesis a little bit short. They are definitely decent players. First match was a steamroll partly because we had a massive commander/strat advantage. They went Warthog, we went rockets, which was a hard counter. Warthog is one of the best (if not *the* best) commander for heavy weapons, but until he gets those heavy weapons, he effectively has *zero* abilities. Getting attacked by early game T1 aggression (rockets, mortars, swarm missiles) is Warthog's worst nightmare, as you need to defend yourself while trying to get a cannon to shoot back, without any abilities whatsoever to help you survive. Case in point, just look at the season 2 FPL playoffs and our game against Pro Aim, who were using Warthog on this map as well, and see what happened. Fun fact: After the first round Full-Felicis and LaVen said they were contemplating picking Pinchfist* for that match instead, and changed their mind to Warthog at the last second. If they didn't that round would probably not have been so smooth for us. And let's not ignore that here in round two there was a close call where Marshmellenesis almost got a kill on me with a warhead sneaking through the anti air. With a little bit more luck, they might've turned this round into a 1v2 against Dranistian alone.

Thank you for responding, and I agree with your points. My thought, and this isn't documented by Incursus, but if this match was recorded live, I'm fine with it. You can't always predict the results before they happen. In many of the tournaments, I find the first round matches the most interesting, because no matter who plays against EtaN, it is one sided the majority of the time. My point, is this seems pre-recorded, likely from a replay. I would guess that it was narrated and published because it was a popular team. Also, Even if you had lost your core on the second match. It would have taken a whole lot of luck for them to have won that match still. ;) You guys won the pregame paper rock scissors. You guys won the early game meta. And you guys are simply the better players. And you are absolutely right. If they had picked a different commander, it very likely could have become a very good match! Also: I subbed to you. :)
