it is a weirdly involving and instantly/intuitively understandable game to watch, kinda like how you can follow a Rivals Of Aether match pretty well without even knowing the name of the game beforehand let alone the framedata movesets and relative controllability of the characters

By the way, something that Incursus doesn't mention is that one of Phantom's abilities makes all weapons cloaked until they fire. Not only are they invisible, but also *building and upgrading them is perfectly silent.* This is critical, because it's the reason why we were able to get away with building stealth rockets. There were *ZERO* indicators for the opposing team to catch - no build sound, no upgrade sound, fake mine suggests a slow, heavy eco build, and I've even placed a fake munitions plant on full display for a brief moment (deleting it emits the wood creaking sound, making the opponent think that I must've sold my 1st tier technology). By the time we're building platforms in front of the base to move rockets into, it's already too late. You will never be able to build anti-air in time by that point, unless you're Architect with an already fully charged ability. Of course, as with anything, there are ways to counter this, but I still love this strat.

Also, important note to anyone in the anti-sleep culture, you technically can't sleep when you're dead because sleep isn't just rest, infact that's only an abbreviation for what sleep is- restorative. Which decomposition is kind of an *antonym. Slow up on the stimulants, and try some sleep. Humans spend more time awake daily now than ever before, no wonder mental health has become so bad.

@@rockysmith6105 Actually, the reason I've managed to collapse my base is... in all the stress and mild sleep deprivation, *I forgot to build stability tech before beginning to build defenses.* This by the way might be the first time I ever did that mistake, and of all times, it had to happen during a streamed tournament... This is all the more ironic considering I made stability tech tutorial on my channel xD But yeah, obvious solution to the problem would be to just get enough sleep before the important game of the day...

My most embarassing match, and then my most beautiful match in my entire Forts career, :V Fun fact: that bit at 18:21 was actually a result of miscommunication. Dranistian over voice chat suggested that I start defending, and I've misunderstood what he said as pulling weapons back and building woodspam, where as what I was *actually* supposed to be doing is simply start building doors on my weapons so that they're not free food for sniper.

@@commmander64 I was indeed running short on sleep. On top of that, very stressed, as it was one of my first games in the pro league - a new experience. Having to defend from early aggression strategy (swarm missiles) in the first round only aggravated these issues.

Oh, no! Our cheese is publicly shown now. But don't worry, we can always do "reverse" cheese. Scarrying opponents, that we are going for rockets, but going for t2 weapons. So you will never know :D I underestimated Scattershot. After huge nerf he got a small buff, and this small buff actually makes a difference. You need more defense in front of weapons, due to more condensed projectiles. Anyway, GG!

A couple suggestions for the Observer UI: 1) Firstly, the nameplate covers some portion of the forts, which is sometimes annoying and you can't see what's behind it. Although, it doesn't cover any major portions of the fort, it just ruins the "look" of the fort. I feel it will look cleaner if the nameplate is a bit transparent. Also, you don't necessarily need to display the nameplate of the player on the fort itself, since all the players' fort's info is already displayed on the bottom left and right corners of the screen. For the sake of knowing which player is commanding which fort, you can just put a small indicator like P1 and P2 above the player's core (Just big enough to be visible and not getting in the way of the "looks" of the fort itself). 2) There should be a display for the match time, (probably just above the match scores, just like the old UI). It helps us viewers see the duration of the match and we can know when it is "Cannon O' clock". Btw I barely play any Forts matches, but I absolutely love watching these Pro League matches and livestreams. Your calm and analytical commentary just makes it even better! Keep up the amazing work and the commentary, your Forts vids are the best!! 👍👍

That first defense was absolutely insane! You rarely see someone getting their foundation crushed and heavily deformed, but managing to hold on. It was probably a collection of luck, the slow strategy from Kong and much engineering experience, especially with that last door open which if it wasn't open, it would have taken the hit and fell immediately.

Do the teams not know beforehand on what commander their enemy is using?

We do, to a limited degree. The pick and ban system works such that we each ban 1 commander that cannot be picked, and then each team selects 3 commanders that they can use in the games, and then they're not allowed to reuse a commander that they won with previously. So we know that they're using one of the 3 commanders they've picked, but we don't know which one they're currently using during a round.

Unless it was only some kind of mod that I saw before... but there is something like airy metal... there was plastic... there was other kinds of metal (I meant to say steel/iron)... like one was called "airy metal" or something like that, it was expensive, but had a negative weight or something like that... and there was like a dozen other materials total. They could just not be part of the game and were part of a mod or an older version of the game or something. I thought they were part of the game and/or still part of the game though.
