Thank you Sam for bridging the gap between us and the legend through your interview. Marta speaks of the immigrant plight and the inherent motivation to 'get the job done.' Both Marta and Sisi came to the US to further their development and ended up revolutionizing the game, leaving an indelible mark on women's football, inspiring a generation with their passion and prowess. Marta's foundation, the Marta Vieira da Silva Institute, promotes social inclusion through sports, primarily focusing on empowering girls and women in Brazil. Marta continues to inspire the world at large with her unparalleled skill, dedication to social causes, and unwavering commitment to empowering women through football. Her legacy transcends borders, resonating deeply with fans and aspiring players worldwide. Gracias

Thank you for bringing up Sisi! A lotta folks don’t know about her but she kinda paved the way for Marta too. There’s a great documentary on Sisi on FiFA plus app, if you’re interested in watching. It’s great

One of the best interviews I ever heard. Thank you so much for having Marta on your show. I have been following womens soccer for the past 20 years and was able to see Marta play. My daughters was able to meet Marta after one of her games and I was able to take pictures with her which I will cherish for the rest of my life. We have millions of girls playing soccer through out the world and we cant find another Marta. Their a lot of great soccer players that have great talent surrounding them but Marta does it all on her own. I recent saw her play against Jamaica and after the game Marta went up to the Jamaican Captain and gave her a speech that they are the next generation of soccer playing coming and to play not for 90 minutes but to play for 120 minutes. Marta is so inspiring and passionate for women soccer. I hope she never retires.

its 2011, im in a bar in Rochester, NY with a couple of friends. day off from college, nothing on the TV except, USA vs Brazil, WWC match. had no idea about the match but heard an announcer say the US and local girl Abby Wambach are going up against the best player in the world and her mighty Brazil team. im a diehard NFL fan, American football is my sport, never liked soccer. i watch this match, start to finish, and fell in love with the Womens Game all because of Marta's wizardry on the ball, and that amazing cross from Pinoe to Wambach to send the match to PKs. i count myself extremely lucky to have seen that match live on TV, and to have watched Marta in the years since. ty to Marta, and to all the players who've come and gone since. you've given me something to cheer for and watch grow. i even struggled to watch through the Go90 years 😄 . amazing how the sport has grown. if id only known that so many amazing players played on a team in the city i lived in for school. i never got to see a Western NY Flash match, because i didnt know they existed until it was too late. Marta was a part of that team, as well as Sam at one point i believe. one of the things i regret to this day. great interview. wow, Viv next? Sam grabbing all the superstars 😀. good vibes.

We were so fortunate in Rochester, NY to have had so many of the best players in the world on the WNY Flash team (probably because Rochester was the hometown of Abby Wambach). Unfortunately, those great players had to play in poor conditions, and travel between Buffalo and Rochester to play home games, and were paid poorly. I wish that it was better for them!

Marta is the absolute goat. She is so inspiring, that during her post match loss interview against France in 2019, she said, "Cry in the beginning, so you can smile in the end." and had me booking a tattoo appt to get those words on me!! Years later and it's still one of my favorite tattoos; and I still get compliments on it! Which gives me the opportunity to talk about women's soccer to people not in the know! I am a uswnt fan til I die, but love and respect all of women's soccer.

I've already watched this a few times and it's now my favorite interview with Marta. I love that her sense of humor came out because you can see it on the pitch but this gives context to interactions with players she clearly respects. I also feel like SO many historically great players are still blown away by everything she says about the game, even though they've held their own against her in club or country play. That comes across here, but it also shows how much Marta respects her opponents and can be so down to earth. She still plays on a level where it makes me nervous when I don't see her starting, much less still playing, and she could potentially finally get her season win in the NWSL while she's cooking like she has been since she elevated players on her team who have clearly adapted to certain Martaisms on the pitch.

Thank you so much Sam for interviewing our goat Marta. She’s incredible and i love what she’s done for the women’s game in Brazil and abroad. Maybe at some point you could interview Sissi?
