It is, but learning guitar first is great because you get a head start on any other instrument. You can play melodies and also learn rhythm. Guitar is very hard to master, but bass is harder. Been playing guitar for 9 years too. And whoever said guitar is easier to learn... No, it's easier if youre learning simple stuff, but learning things like jazz, metal, prog metal/rock is very hard to learn

Very nice, Mrs. Altesa. I can tell you've been playing for a while. You're smooth. You should try to go pro. Back in the 70's all I had was a hollow body Hoffner, and later a fretless JazzMaster, which I wish I still had both, and now I see 5 and 6 strings bass, wow. You mixing person/equipment is very good too. Thanks for sharing, and keep recording.

What's funny is that a lot of bands have female bassists because a non-playing girl wants to join (or is asked to join) a band and the bass is the instrument that is allegedly deemed 'easiest to play', so the guitarist will say "I'll teach you some shit on bass!" and a band finds it's bass player. Bass is not that easy to play, especially if you don't have big grubby male fingers, those strings take a lot of dexterity if you want a clean sound. I have mad respect for girls who can rock that rhythm section.

In Many ways bass is more complex and more difficult to master than Guitar. But if you never played Guitar or Bass your going to get better sound and play with a Band a lot quicker with a bass than a Guitar, Manily because you can Play root notes and Hide behind the Guitar Player. Once you start getting Pass beginner level bass Guitar becomes more challenging. and it is so much more Important to play with Drums etc.

UHOP Europe I disagree. To find and have the fat, nasty sound on the bass, is extremly difficult. You've got to have a feeling inside you, pop the strings proper way, and make it drive and groove. It's hard to compare it to guitar (completely different kind of instrument), but it's not easier to get good sound on bass. Definitely not.
