It is really nice watching Martha cook again. These videos reminds me of her first TV show back in the 1990’s. That TV show was so very educational. She was just like a Home Economics High School teacher from the 1960’s-70’s when public education offered these courses. Beautiful kitchen that has everything!

Martha I made these Monday during very stormy weather. I use the recipe and video you and Big Martha posted years ago. My mom is also gone and used to make these as well. Potato filling is our favorite-we change it just a little bit by adding some of the sautéed onions and butter we smother the pierogis in after boiling. I could eat them every day! They are just so delicious. Thank you for sharing your family recipe and tradition. It has become ours as well.

I am forever grateful that my Grandma taught me to make perogies. She made a sauerkraut perogie with her own sauerkraut. It was so good. Sadly she passed when I was young and I didn't get her sauerkraut recipe though I remember helping her pound the cut the cabbage for it. When I was just a child we grandkids would wait until Grandma was in the garden then we'd take turns sneaking into the porch, take the heavy rocks and boards off, to grab handfuls of cold sauerkraut from the big barrel she kept it in while it fermented.

Can't get enough of seeing Martha Stewart's way of sharing her how to cook style. Genuine and without the flashy editing and background music. Sorry Martha, if you handpicked your other cooks, they aren't enjoyable and relaxing to watch. They don't invite people to have a moment in the kitchen. They just seem to throw a production at us. I will be making this recipe.

I grew up with homemade pierogi...dough looks similar but my fillings were different. My favorite was a version with dry cottage cheese (which I cant seem to get so I use rinsed small curd or farmer’s cheese) and scallion tops (just the green part). OMGOODNESS they are amazing. I still make them and enjoy them pan fried in a little butter and olive oil. My husband loves them with sautéed onions. This is a true Polish comfort food. Thanks for the memories and the laughs

Polish Grand Mother is (BUPP-SHE). My Polish Mother would make these with Potato and Cheese and Onion , and sometimes with Cottage Cheese. I also like the ones made with sauerkraut. I like to fry them in butter and rings of onions on the bottom of the pan to kept them from burning. The onion cooks and keeps then up so they don't get hard and burn. Very Nice Martha !

My Grandma, my Mom and all my aunties used to make pierogis. I make them all the the time for our kids. Potato and sauerkraut are the preferred fillings in our house, too. I put bits of dried, soaked forest mushrooms in the kraut ones and lots of sharp cheese in the potato ones. Always a big hit, so I make HUGE batches and freeze some. No idea why we make them, since we're Irish, but... hey. Who doesn't like pierogis? Haha!
