@@zuu_sama I'd honestly think that'd be better. The main reason is for skin conditioning, it will make your skin much stronger, so I guess it's better for that regard.

I remember being 5 years old, and my karate teacher being an older black guy who didn't fucking play. He would make us do knuckle push-ups and other exercises to harden us up. He was a good inspiration for me as a kid and definitely taught me respect. I hope that man is well.

Aside from the knuckle pushup, please do the regular ones before the modified version as a specific warmup. Years down the road your body will thank your patience.

My favorite has to do with the lunges but instead u lunge, front kick, lunge. It’s pretty simple and it’s a crazy leg workout

If you actually use arms in push-ups as opposed to arms out push-ups, it does work more the muscles that are actually used for punching.

when i go to karate we warm up with push ups and stuff like that when i finish squats we do sit ups after that and i do a break fall into the sit up

Instead of push-ups outward do tricep push-ups and explode up. Your arms come from your ribs when in stance. Adding this should help keeping form and snap power.

Knuckle push up are only used for very important reasons.. 1.To improve mental strength 2.U may unlock Inch punches 3.U may break very durable objects including.. (Wood Concrete minecraft bedrock Stone Metal Lead Diamond Nokia 8300 Gold)

Been doing martial arts my whole life, I wouldn't start knuckle pushups untill your knuckles are fully developed, keep training hard everyone!

Our school trained on a tile floor. One of our Sensei's were completely brutal. Just squats, push-ups and jumping jacks over and over again for 25 minutes before every class. All of our push-ups had to be on our knuckles. When I got to my blue belt, I started leading all the workouts for every class by his standard. Started doing it 3 times a day for 7 days a week. About 3 years later, it made me tough as nails and conditioned enough to make it through my black belt test. It was fun but damn it destroy my joints in my hands, knees and ankles.

another good way to upgrade from a squat is to do the sissy squats, it trains balance, and more importantly builds strength in your quads and knees

In the past I did a really good workout for sidekicks: stand on one leg and make a sidekick first low and then high. This is one round. Try to do 18 (If you don't get it at first, you will get it with time) and make sure the leg which you are kicking with, is not touching the ground till you finished your 18 rounds. Then go on with the other leg. Over time your balance will become much better, and your muscles will adapt to this kick movement. In the end you will feel that the exercise is not decided up into the two kicks movement and it start to be a controlled loop, where it doesn't matter if you come from a high kick in a lower or the opposite. And the loop will also be much easier to executed for your hip muscles.

I always do knuckle push-ups during warm-ups. My right wrist got messed up a couple years ago and it hurts to do regular push-ups with my hands open but using my knuckles eliminates the pain

Another good one is horse stance, it comes from a couple different styles of kung fu and (no matter your opinion on the effectivness of kung fu) it is a nice core and leg workout, its good way to start off with martial arts exersises

You should add a disclaimer to use your front 2 knuckles on the knuckle push-ups to prevent boxer’s fracture

nuckle pushups are great because its an increase ROM but they arent great for conditioning as the nuckle in punching needs to be more adapted to explosive power rather than a more passive force. its also great for people with wrist issues or pain but if that is your primary problem parralets are probably more worth your time

Knuckle push ups are sometimes an extra activity if someone cant follow the coach properly (its not a punishment its extra activity)
