I think this is one of the most realistic fights of Batman, the bad guys try to attack him at the same time, Batman use his environment, the few times he gets shot you hear him making sounds of pain, because as we know, a bulletproof suit protects you from bullets but you feel strong blows, when batman was shot in the head it is as if he had been hit, other very realistic aspects are that he does not come out unscathed and does not catch the strikes in the air, he covers or dodge them, you have to analyze the fight to notice its realism, because if someone tells you that a batman fight is realistic, it is probably to think that it is not.

Less Affleck's portrayal than Snyder's death-obsessed way of making films. A reticence to kill is always portrayed as weakness, and becoming someone willing to kill without care is depicted as positive growth. Snyder knows Batman has to be shown as cool, therefore Batman has to be completely fine with killing people. The entire 'he deliberately brands people so they get murdered in prison' beat is there for this exact reason.

As cool as the whole fight looks, there are 2 specific moments that i like the most, that showcase exactly the nature of batman. First is when he pops out of the ground and blows up the guns. Using shock and intimidation to throw everyone off guard, to the point where one of the henchmen is still shooting into the hole in the floor because he didn't even see Batman fly up and is confused about what's going on. The second is the part where batman is taken down by the cape and then stabbed. The fight is dragging on, the element of surprise is gone, batman is getting tired. So his big weakness comes into play - he's just a guy. Half of his stuff is theatrics, and now that the bad guys see through it because they had the time to take a closer look, they can start fighting back effectivey. But then, he's still Batman, so he deals with it...

While I love the no kill rule for Batman, it’s kind of redundant considering that he’s consistently shown maiming and crippling people throughout his career. I think this is one of the most realistic fights of Batman, the bad guys try to attack him at the same time, Batman use his environment, the few times he gets shot you hear him making sounds of pain, because as we know, a bulletproof suit protects you from bullets but you feel strong blows, when batman was shot in the head it is as if he had been hit, other very realistic aspects are that he does not come out unscathed and does not catch the strikes in the air, he covers or dodge them, you have to analyze the fight to notice its realism, because if someone tells you that a batman fight is realistic, it is probably to think that it is not.

the "no kill" rule tho added to the comics only because the wanted repeat villains and in the older comics he killed all his foes, that and the fact comics in the late 60's 70's were meant to be cleaner. but it became a very important part of his character and all his reasons for doing thing and is the key part of some of his best stories including this one where if you know the context robin, Dick Grayson in this universe, was killed by the joker and in this cannon bruce couldn't take it and stopped caring if he killed criminals to a point that Alfred and even Jim Gordon think he's lost his edge and needs help. so the "no kill" rule is very much NOT BS.

This Batman kills because he has been broken spiritually by his friends becoming enemies, villains always escaping to kill again, Robin being killed by Joker / Harley, etc (there are lines in the movie referencing this). It isn't until he fights Superman, sees this "god" show humanity and concern for another (Martha) that he starts to reconcile his position. Also, this isn't even confined to the DCEU version. Keaton's Batman killed (witness the opening to Batman Returns for example), Kilmer's Batman caused the death of Two-Face, Bale's Batman also killed Two-Face, let Ra's al Ghul die on the train, and was OK with Bane being killed by Selina. Even the goody-two-shoes Christopher Reeve version of Superman killed Zod in Superman II (original cut) by tossing him to his death in the Fortress of Solitude. A lot of the vitriol aimed at Batfleck killing was more that they just didn't want to like the character / movie and "he doesn't kill" is what they latched on to, ignoring the reasoning given in the BvS movie for him being that way and ignoring all the other versions that have also killed on-screen, never mind in the comics too. Enjoyed your video though, mate. Been working my way through a few now after being recommended one this morning.

The whole Batman has a no-kill code is kind of a misnomer. He has killed people intentionally in the comics even when they first came out. He did have a no-kill code for a long time and this was huge part of the films (except the Tim Burton one's where he totally kills people) but in the comic world he basically gives up on the no-kill/no-guns thing after Robin is killed by the Joker. This arc comes out even more after comics like The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight series where he absolutely kills people This Batman is based on Frank Miller's version of Batman where he doesn't really have that code anymore. He'll bring someone to justice and doesn't outright try to kill them but if someone takes him on in a fight and Batman wastes them, so be it. I loved this movie because you're seeing a version of Batman that wasn't represented in the prior films and more like the actual comic book version of him

Also, I prefer DC for taking themselves too seriously. If an all powerful alien fell from the sky, Jeff Basos was trying to kill it and Elon Musk was Dressing up as a bat and killing criminals, it wouldn’t be all fun and campy. It’d be mass hysteria. It’d be dark and taken very seriously. Something like the DCEU would’ve be more akin to reality. When Thor came to earth in the MCU, nobody even cared. They’re fun movies, but not akin to reality.

I did really enjoy the serious take they took with the Joker and thought it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. That dark and gritty storytelling definitely has a lot of pluses to it. I am really hoping they lean in to that with the upcoming Batman movie as well. It's not that I didn't like the darker DC movies as opposed to Marvel, I just think that Marvel has had more time to discover their identity with the MCU and roll with it. The first and second Thor movies tried to be a bit serious and just weren't great but the third one was a great time because it leaned into the goofiness of it all. I think the DCEU has a lot of potential (I am not a comic book reader so can't speak to those). If it turns out anything like DC's animated series it will be incredible! They definitely have Marvel beat there. Again, all in my humble opinion as someone who knows nothing about the universes outside of the movies haha!!!

In a certain battle, you will not expect that everyone is going to be an easy job but you have to give your best shot in order to survive their attacks. But a month before release the studio forced him to cut half an hour out. The point of Batfleck is that he's Batman as Batman would be if he had fought for 20 years, faced all of that lost, and spiraled out of control. The film addresses that this is not how Batman has always operated. The police, criminals, civilians, they all agree that this is Batman as they've never seen. "He is mean and he is hunting."

Affleck's Batman had been batman for 20 years at the point of the movie and he was broken when his Robin was killed, so that's when he broke his "no kill" rule. This Batman kills and doesn't care until he is redeemed by Superman's death and resurrection in JL. So Affleck's Batman after this movie doesn't kill people anymore. That being said, every other Batman has killed people in their movies except George Clooney's batman. Also when you said Affleck is Huge, that's an understatement. He is 6'4" and was 230lbs and the time of filming and at 8% body fat (according to his wife). So he got more massive than already was in normal life.
