@Barrett Nichols It depends on what you want to achieve for one. Most people see splits as a goal and it certainly helps with kicking higher, transitions to other kicks, etc. I agree, there was one point when I was going past splits and I was starting to lose power. For me I have found a happy median that I want where I feel flexible enough to stretch and do certain moves but still have enough strength and explosive power to be fast and cause damage. But like I said, it's all about what you want. If you're happy with your balance or know what you are working towards then that's great. Good luck :)

Hi, I started taekwondo two months ago and I already have a injury lol. I feel pain in my upper hamstring when I kick and when I'm stretching. It started 3 weeks ago and it's not going away. I just wanted to know if you ever had this kind of injury, and if yes, what would you recommand ? Thanks a lot and Thanks for your videos, they really help me :)
@GingerNinjaTrickster11 жыл бұрын
That's unfortunatw. It sounds like you have over exerted yourself so rest and if the pain continues then i'd see a doctor. No problem and i'm glad they help :)

Curious. Is it absolutely necessary to attain full splits? I can only open up roughly 140 degrees, maybe less, but enough to kick head level and maintain balance. I feel I have better control and power being less flexible and a little more explosive. Ideas?

As always a great video. It's very helpful but I came across a problem during my nine years of stretching which is I cannot by myself lift my leg as a "side kick raise". It feels like my hip is locked somehow. When I do a side kick, I stretch my leg but I cannot get it higher than middle. In terms of my flexibility I'm able to do a split but I still feel the tension but I get there. What exercise should I do to get rid of the problem? If you have any advice, please reply. Thanks in advance :)

helllo there ninja! i wanted to ask you, i recently came up to the leven that i could do splits coz ive always wanted to be so flexible, but if someone stops training and practising, how long will it take to undo most of the results?
@GingerNinjaTrickster11 жыл бұрын
I think it depends in the person and how long you have been flexible for as it becomes quite natural after a while and you can maintain it from doing little stretching, kicks, etc. If you did nothing, you would definitely see significant loss after a couple of months in my opinion. Hope that helps and good luck :)
@phsichoforpantera11 жыл бұрын
GingerNinjaTrickster significant loss eh?well..whatever i will train more often then :p thanks for the advice man!:)

Hello. I'm a 17-year-old man recently training tae kwon do. I used to go to gym when I was young but I quited it toooo early(I don't even remember how did I train their). Now I'm too busy to go to gym and be trained by master. So I just practice personally with youtube video. Since I started trainig late, I have poor flexibility and can't kick high. So can you tell me how to grow my flexibility personally(without partner) at home please?

Hey Aaron, my name is Cameron and i'm 13 years old. I have been doing point sparring for a while now and I have a very large height disadvantage. When i come in for a Kick or a Punch, they come in and knock me to the ground before i can even make contact. Is there a way to avoid this? please reply soon.
@GingerNinjaTrickster11 жыл бұрын
If you are shorter there are to main things you can do in my opinion. Skip in, do a technique and skip out or close the distance so their advantage is gone and overpower them with strength and speed. Both will involve good timing. Ie. Waiting for them to be vulnerable by being out of balance, bringing their foot back down, etc before you pounce in. Hope that helps and good luck :)
