When I was a kid, I always thought that someone who did martial arts is aggressive and wants to beat up people. I couldn't have been more wrong. Wish it didn't took me 30 years to find out but better late than never. What I also learned along those years that if somebody tries to shame you for using (not: abusing!) a certain skill, it's almost always because they want to hold you back. Why try to bang it out with a striker just to entertain the audience if I'm a skilled grappler? My life got much better when I started to only care about what people that are important to me think about me. Great video again. In my opinion, no matter if you're a Buddhist or not, you should always strive for wisdom. Looking forward to hear more from you.

Thank you for thoughtfully sharing your perspective. Funny story from my end... my girlfriend's best friend seriously asked her if I am violent towards her when we have arguments, since I'm a former fighter and martial artist. I was shocked that anyone would think that of me since my entire life has been dedicated toward the restraint and control of violence. Shows you how little some people know about the world of martial arts. Take care and all my best for 2025

Being modest and humble is one of the greatest powers a martial artist can have. One of the Teachers I worked with oft reminded those he taught of something the poet philosopher Archilochus said in the mid-7th century BCE: "When faced with a worthy opponent, rather than rise to your level of expectation, you will, instead, sink to your true level of ability." Some of the mightiest forces one can wield is humility.

Yes, I have to agree with you for the most part. Humility is an incredibly powerful virtue. However, I have often used it against myself in being too modest, unable to fully own my skills and ability. Fighting taught me something about pride, and how it can bring a person to new heights.

Good subject one that has little light. The inner forces of being human are not taught extensively or in harmony with the training, creating an imbalance. The two inner and outer mind sets need to be recognized to be controlled. Good work. I hope this subject gets a lot of attention.

Thank you for the kind words and support. This is a subject that I've thought a lot about and it was difficult to get all of my points across. Hope it benefits you in some way 🙏
