Segal was trained by the Brothers Benny, Benny Hinn Benny Hana Benny Hill Benny Hinn - trained him the "Movement of Air" to knock over his opponent using,..... well,....air. Benny Hana - trained him to devour a whole side of beef by inhaling it. Benny Hill - well he's a joke. Actually I like Steve Segal, his movies have a lot of insight to all aspects of the crime in the elite world. Whether is Tech, Bio, Nuclear, Hollywood, Trafficking (drugs, human) or other. His movies are more than hints to whats happening in our world just like ex Governor Jessie Ventura on his exposing the conspiracy/crimes the elite and wealthy do!

Hey Douchers, they're not blocks or slaps they're called deflections; comes from sword work. I'm sure the concept's a little advanced for some of you. Over the years doing security, involved in use of force incidents; doing physical escorts or arrests, I've used more Aikido-esque techniques and principles than anything else.; and it worked! 😮 And yes Seagal carries one or two towels under his gi, and has been for decades. Btw: watch video of his training especially black belt testing at his dojo back in the day; as rough and intense as any BJJ gym. How many of you would like to roll and test on a hardwood floor; no mats. 🤔

@Axel Ave Successful career? My man, no one has given a shit about one of his movie releases since the 90s. He's a bigger nobody than Van Damme but at least he doesn't think he's the king of martial arts like Seagal does. Renowned fighter? Where? He's never participated in a real competition in his life and according to Stallone he's dodged JCVD who actually wanted to fight him back when he was talking shit all the time in the 90s. We don't even know if his Aikido title is legit, he got it after marrying the dojo master's daughter and basically inheriting the dojo.

All I can say is Akido is about perfect timing to use your opponents forward motion as a lever to take himself down. You don't get to be an 8th dan by being not effective. Akido when first used as a real martial art by the founder back in his day was effective because it had to be. Broken wrists, ripped tendons, dislocated joints wrist, elbow, shoulder, knee etc. It wasn't done in a gym as a demo it was done for real and you show me a fighter that can carry on with a broken shattered elbow, or a dislocated/ broken wrist. Steven Seagal was an actor but he was also a good Akido master and it's not all about MMA or UFC and if he was attacked with intent I'm sure he would have made a mess of the attacker ,film star or not. 😉👍

@Stevekido3 жыл бұрын
No it isn't. You are just completely misunderstanding everything about martial arts. Aikido is actually a cerebral martial art seeking perfection & in reality (ie not what you "see" on such videos of a training class to learn as opposed to the martial reality of combat). there is no defence in true martial arts as there is no time for it. you either stay away and keep them at a distance (eg like how Lennox Lewis boxed with his jab and reach) or you go in for the kill (eg like the young fearsome & much shorter Tyson). anything in between is always 50:50 if you assumed equally matched opponents (as you invariably see the . Also a lot of people go to learn aikido are not looking to get into brawls - they want to improve themselves in some way. Others are more fighter types. It is a person that fights another person not a martial arts style. A cage fight competition is completely different to a street brawl & a million miles from a special forces soldier with the objective to kill by any means. And by the way a lot of special forces soldiers choose to learn some of the more brutal and tactical elements of aikido amongst other things. Ye have eyes but ye does not see. and talking of eyes that is your biggest clue as to if an opponent is to be avoided. The natural fighter or killer will have an intensity in the eyes. Like a silent primeval warning from evolution that you are in a dangerous place & should probably leave that one alone. Sure there will be people out there who can beat him - especially at nearly age 70, but believe me Seagal clearly has the eyes of a killer not the monk poet he likes to think he is. Your comment tells me you understand nothing of martial arts & my guess is Seagal would take you out within 10 seconds with a spear like thrust into your throat or a strangling throat grip if you went for him. Believe me the moment you attack you have already lost & you don't come back from that unless the opponent lets you go as it is incredibly simple to kill a human being when you understand the anatomy.
@Samurai-sv2wz3 жыл бұрын
Even though I don't agree, that Aikido is a fraud martial. There is good and, bad variations of every martial art, same goes for Aikido. I respect your opinions on aikido, even though aren't the same as mine. Aikido isn't going to appeal to anyone.
@Samurai-sv2wz3 жыл бұрын
I'm just giving my opinion, like i mentioned earlier there is good and, bad in every martial art that includes MMA & Aikido etc. As for testing my Aikido ability. Why would I? I don't have an axe to grind, when it comes to comparing other martial arts styles. I'm not insecure about my ability in Aikido, because I have nothing to prove. If the truth be told I've no knowledge of real fighting. It looks like Aikido has taught me something after all, and, that is how to avoid getting into a fight in the first place. Besides i would be a crap fighter. That's not because i study Aikido either, I was never interested in fighting anyway to begin with. I picked because it felt like the right martial art for me to try.
@Samurai-sv2wz3 жыл бұрын
Facts? Oh, you mean because I've never pressure tested my Aikido, you're right i haven't. You mentioned that I don't know what's good or bad in Aikido? Fine that's your opinion. I also have no problem with other people calling Aikido whatever they want to call it, choreographed dance, bullshit, fake etc. Even my stepfather makes fun of it occasionally, but not in a nasty way. By the way have you practiced aikido yourself? I'm just curious. And what is it about Aikido that you don't like?
@Samurai-sv2wz3 жыл бұрын
Please don't assume what I know, or don't know. After all you you've never met me, therefore you know nothing about me. I've been studying Aikido for 26 years and, I also worked hard during the time I've been practicing it. I've been in Aikido a long time. When i mentioned there is good and, bad in Aikido, what I meant by that was, is that there are lots of clubs and associations teaching Aikido. Some of them are better than some other Aikido clubs. I was lucky to have been Aikido by a good teacher. His name is Geoff flather, he also used to study karate and, is also a former policeman. I've attended Aikido taught by different instructors, from various clubs. So it was very useful to learn about Aikido from another teachers perspective. Not all Aikido is the same. On KZbin, I've seen some mediocre Aikido demos, which unfortunately gives all styles of Aikido a bad reputation, which is a bit sad. You mentioned in your last comment that you've also studied Judo, Karate and, BJJ and that you've been in the military. You have a better knowledge of varying martial arts styles than i do. During my time in Aikido I've had the opportunity to practice Aikido with people who studied Karate, Kung fun, Taekwondo. Two people I've practiced Aikido with are both ex marines. I hope any comments I made didn't cause any offense, if i did I apologize. All the best.

@@PsyChoChiRcuS Thanks for the compliment. Does not hurt my feelings. I have nothing to prove and he proves nothing to me. The point is, no one has ever seen him sweating, exhausted and bloody from facing an actual opponent. Where is it? He has mastered the art of bull shit.

@@Ironhorsemountainman777 Man he is steven seagal... ofc he doesnt have to sweat for the likes of u to believe.... When did u see chuck norris once being trade by bruce lee himself, to ever sweat? Never... There are some people in this world that they do not have to actually sweat... It s hard for you to comprehend with this idea... But it is what it is... He is steven seagal for christ's sake. No more explanation lol. Haters like you will be always haters... True unfortunately story.

He has good skills, but no matter what he does in this video, I can't get my attention away from his belly.

I don't think that's his belly. I think he came straight from the airport and being in a strange place, decided to keep his suitcase on him instead of risking someone running off with it.

Never mind the belly , all martial arts masters have one, it's their hard-earned 'ki'. But WTF about casually stepping onto the mat, casually bowing to Ueshiba's portrait, hardly kneeling (probably sore knees that impede his kneeling), then so casually keeping a towel over his left shoulder throughout !!! Can't believe such trump-liker smugness !!!

Not smart to fight when he's pregnant. He must've given birth soon after this. His kid must be 3 years old now.
