I'm on the fence between this exact guitar and the 000-28 EC but I'm looking for the Merle Haggard sound. So don't know enough about them to know if there is a difference? Any thoughts would be great. Thanks

The 000-28VS will have a more direct sound with its longer 25.4 scale, the bass will sound a bit more rounded and balanced compare to the 000-28EC. A better strumming guitar possibly, Haggard used a 00-18 12 fret and a 00-45 12 fret, this is a size larger so more volume.

Going strong on the 12 string! Haven't really tarnished or dulled in tone. Might up the tension slightly.

If it had 1 11/16th, I’d try and get one. But I did get the HD-28V, so close….kinda.

What?, I though all VS are 1 3/4 and all V are 1 11/16th in the vintage series. I’m reading now that some of the 000-28VS have even wider but widths at 1 13/16th. Is that what you meant?

Hi Tim, thanks for catching that, it is a 1 13/16ths neck, slightly wider than 1 3/4

@@studio1vintageguitars glad to help (I hope) the reason I know this specific is because I very much prefer the 1 11/16 so I got my dream Martin recently, HD-28V and caught the distinctions throughout the Vintage Series.
