Henrik Larsson was Man Utd/Barcelona standard! Other strikers that were a class above at Celtic back then (1997-99) were Paulo De Canio and Mark Viduka! 💰 Money in Europe was evenly spread in those days (unlike now)

Haaland will break goalscoring records everywhere he goes. But the criticisms of his all round game are justified. But it doesn't matter as long as the manager and team have an appetite for a lack of contribution elsewhere. Some people's noses are being pushed out of joint, and it shows. It also shows that you can be articulate, like MoN, without being especially wise

That’s nonsense! Larsson was a complete footballer. Because he scored so many goals people forget the number of assists he had- the two in the Champions League final being the most famous. Owen wasn’t a great footballer, but (at his peak) he was lightening quick and a good finisher. That’s why Owen was no longer effective when he lost his pace. Owen himself admitted he was a worse version of Javier Hernandez towards the end.

Just making it to being a professional footballer anywhere you literally have to be better than hundreds and hundreds of millions of other people who also want to become professionals. To play in the top leagues you are prob in the top 0.0001% of footballers globally to then go and be successful and play a part in your team wining trophies means you are so far above average it’s absolutely disrespectful to suggest any player in the premier league is average. If average players could make it as a professional we would all be getting paid millions to kick a ball. The word average should never be mentioned in the same sentence as any premier league players. Players with average skill sets will never come anywhere near the premier league ever
