Martin OM-28 Custom Cutaway Vs Collings OM1C - Round Two Comparison!
Collings OM1 has brand new Daddario XS Phosphor Bronze Light gauge strings .012- .053. Martin is a 2017 Custom Shop OM-28 with Adirondack Spruce braces - Not sure what the strings are. Definitely light gauge and new condition.

Nice job on these two comparison videos, Gary! I prefer the intimate, fundamental tones on the Collings. I just bought a Martin OMJM, and may be returning it as I realized I prefer the tone of my 000-15M. The OMJM has the same dimensions, but is too overtone-rich and has a very tight, high-tension feel in comparison. Thanks very much… your videos are a great service to the toneseekers!

I like both…the martin seems a bit warmer, not better just a bit warmer. I will have to try some of the xs strings.

Thanks. The OM sounds great in the right setting. I play some venues where conversation crowd noise is very loud. In those settings the OM Is the wrong tool for the job and a dread is better
