Taking such care with making movies is why his pictures are so good. Not 'put in a fight scene because we need to use these special effects' but film it in a particular way to evoke emotions we don't even realise we're feeling because it's so subtle yet powerful. I hope some of the younger generation can get a chance to make movies this way.

All you gotta do to know that Lily is worthy of the Oscar is to watch her gestures in this scene - look at the way she handles the cigarette her non-verbal mannerisms and how she speaks. That is real acting. Btw, Leo did his finest acting work in Django and did the same thing: his hand gestures and mannerisms in that one were incredible.

There's a bit at the end of The Killer where Fassbender is relaxing on the beach, and his eye twitches. That has to be a Taxi Driver reference, the bit at the end where Travis' psychosis beings to manifest itself once again in the rear view mirror. Travis and Fassbender are gonna do it again.
