I've got an 08 g35x vq35hr sedan and have seen and driven with many other models. There are a LOT of clapped out high schooler owned gs out there, but people like me who take pride in customizing them with quality parts and not straight piping them or driving like fools are out there. They can be great looking and driving cars for sure, so I'm glad to see a new video on them from someone like Alex! Thanks man, this was spot on and another great video!

You redeemed yourself. You’re right about a sub section of these being clapped out takeover rockets but there is also a subsection that takes great pride in making these cars clean and keeping up with maintenance. A lot of old cars of the early 2000s have this same occurrence,by the time a car is 15-20 years old it’s condition will reflect its history. Plenty of clapped out 3 series, Hondas, Mustangs on the road. A side note, for whatever reason AFEs intakes for the G35 are branded as “Takeda”. I have one and love it. Also as far as the “trombone” exhaust I would wager that the vast majority you hear and hate are straight piped. Hit the nail on the head that they need resonators though.

These are great cars, i wish they didn't have such a bad rep. I remember these used to be classy cars around 2010's. Been my dream car since around then, and picked one up in '21. Ive kept it oem but i got some q50 wheels I'm waiting to put on, and would like an exhaust at some point. But that's about it. I think these cars in stock form are great

I've had my 06 G35 sedan stock since I bought it back when I was 18. It is still an amazing daily driver and I feel like it also is a great first car to learn some driving skills. If you've been wanting a Z but cant really get one, the Infiniti is the closest you're gonna have. I've driven my friends 03 350z and they're almost near identical to drive feeling. These are truly great driving cars, if you plan on getting one please don't end up on any news articles, we got to give these cars good reputation now. They're not the villains the media claim to be. I plan on modifying mine soon and trust me, you wont be seeing my g35 sedan on any news article. ( unless it's stolen)

I've had a 07 G35 Sport Sedan for a little over a year now. I would recommend going against buying a 07 or 08 sedan. A lot of manufacturers didn't make parts for this car making finding parts pretty hard. I've had to go custom on a few parts because nobody makes it. Definitely a fun car, but please keep it clean.

Full motordyne with art pipes, motordyne 5/16 spacer, ported throttle body, injen intake, tein coilovers all you need to have fun with this car. For wheels just throw some rpf1 and you’ll be set.

just in time for dinner, here’s my take on mods budget friendly turbo: rev9 single turbo kit (would recommended upgrading certain parts) baller budget: soho single turbo kit or boosted performance single turbo. If you plan on boosting your stock engine, keep the torque around 400, don’t pass 500 wheel it’s a time bomb, good reliable numbers are around 400 tq 450 wheel. If you wanna go past 500 build the engine. Stop plasti dipping the oem wheels, especially the 18 inch rays those look good in silver. For good sound, motordyne or tomei + art pipes (there’s a cheaper alternative: AMS sekushi down pipes bc motordyne art pipes aren’t always in stock and the price has sky rocketed, these reduce rasp) I went with BC racing coil overs and they feel amazing 2 years later worth every penny, get upgraded suspension parts and you’ll love taking this car on the twisty roads, z1 is a good brand, add sway bars and the car will feel even more amazing 03-04 6MT come stock with brembos. the g35 gets a better aero upgrade in 2006+ it comes with a better looking front bumper and side skirts and ofc the dimple tail lights. Injen intake (short and long tube changesable) is the best imo for the price and sound, z1 plenum spacer and plastic/thermal intake manifold gaskets for heat reduction, pls add a catch can. slap on some rpf1 wheels and good tires, after all this I promise you’ll be amazed on how well it drives and performs. these are great cars to drive when done right instead of just throwing an exhaust a tune and shooting flames which is played out imo. stop ruining these cars lol great vid alex. If you start burning oil change ur oil every 3k miles and check once a week your oil level. Royal purple is my go to bc of how well it cleans oil buildup, they don’t know 5w30 in high mileage, so just buy a high mileage oil treatment, also don’t buy oil from a car parts store they charge you more, you can get the same oil cheaper at Lowe’s or Walmart lmao, same thing for silicone.

I got a 06 infiniti g35 coupe as my daily in 2020 it's been great saved a few thousand compared to 350z I did some simple mods pilot sport 4 a/s stagerd stock rims, z1 cold air intake, z1 plenum spacer and a invidia gemini cat back stock cats sounds great considering a newer daily then building the g motor and a vortech supercharger (ca smog legal)

I think for the g35 and Z it would be good to mention the expected maintantence. Like the plenum spacer that helps the forward cylenders berath better, your slave cylinder WILL GO OUT if you don't flush the fluid every 10k miles.

I track mine and you can run 275/35/19 on a 19x9.5 +12 in the front. It’s pretty low and has no camber arms, fenders aren’t even rolled. I think with a +22 you could fit a 295 easily. Maybe even a 305

I’m from Aus and just picked up an ‘05 350gt Skyline as they are called here. Its stock apart from an aftermarket intake and I believe it is the upgraded spec as it has the forged Rays, sunroof, nismo shifter & steering wheel. Really tryna get as much information as I can so I can modify it to my liking and keep it really clean, so thanks heaps for the vid. P.S if anyone knows whether there are differences between the infinity G35 and Nissan 350gt that I should remember when watching these type of videos from American channels please lmk 🙌🏼

You mentioned camber plates. that's not a thing on this platform. You need front upper control arms and rear traction/ camber arms. Get a true rear coilover and ditch the spring bucket for some Z1 suspension arms which lets you do whatever you want with camber as opposed to the limited stock adjustability.

Yes, however with the dual throttle body setup and a more niche market for parts, it's a little tougher to do. Whatever you do, keep the resonators stock, or get some good aftermarket ones. The muffler delete does wonders for the 35hr and 37s so long as you keep them, and true CAIs look sick behind the grille like the takedas I've got.
